"The freakiest thing about all of this is the idea that you would be one of those bands to somebody ... That thing of it being imprinted on your heart, you know… every note of it." Thom Yorke quoted from Meeting People is Easy
Prob my favorite Radiohead bside ever, and seeing it performed here just sent tears streaming down my cheeks. The absolute most powerful performance I've ever seen from the amazing Mr. Yorke, and that's saying a hell of a lot!!! Wow, and I thought "Analyse" from this session was mind-blowing.... :' }
Thom Yorke's voice, lyrics, and musical compositions always have this sort of mind-blowing control over me. Like in this song for example, it triggers my emotions in a sense that makes me want to cry...yet it also makes me feel comforted and hopeful at the same time. For what reasons? I don't know...it's just unexplainable. Thom Yorke's music is just extraordinarily unexplainable.
i don't think listeners could ever truly understand how the artist feels or considers his or her own compositions to be...its doesn't matter if they do or don't 'get it', each listener will love or relate to the music in their own unique way...and thats the whole beauty of it...btw another breathtaking performance from Thom....i hope he lives over a hundred years n continues making spell-bounding music like this..
I'd like to say something else. Didnt this video have like 800,000 views at some point? Its almost like the webmasters erase the data on Radiohead to decieve the audience into thinking they are still 'underground' music. I bet you this has been seen millions of times.
@rif0802 The user that had the video with 800 000 views removed it. Unfortunate because I had it bookmarked and when i saw it was removed i was like... O.o Who would remove such awesome music?
i like Radiohead, they are great. Everyone els is a robot. I am different. I dont follow paterns. everyone els likes robot sounds. Look at me with Thoms flower sounds. If i could make flower sounds I would. I am better. I am not the same. I know Thom. no one knows Thom. hes not one of the most famous rock stars on the planet right now..... oh no, wait.
in a way I love the fact that most people I know havn't even heard of thom and think radioheads songs all sound the same. I guess u can lead a horse to water ect, but u either have musical taste or u watch X factor. A truly beautiful song.
lol Im so happy is like that most people here in miami have no clue what radiohead is or music is lol.all they care is about commercial music garbage.I called he local rock radio station requesting.radiohead's Subterranean Homesick Alien..they where like wtf is that lol I wuz never mind even after i told the album and the year it came they where we dont have we should lol
@butolina People do this at weddings with the stupid song choices they pick for "their song" totally unaware that the song is about separation or death.
My friend is a DJ and a musician and tells me that people do this all the time because they only hear the chorus but fail to hear the rest of the song.
@RevolutionGuitars I can see picking something like this at wedding. If you and your partner are touched enough by a song like this it makes that moment so much more memorable. In fact I would prefer something almost like an inside joke/relation versus some cliche love song.
@sunkenbumnuts agree...i wish more people would understand radiohead, this band is truely the best band of all times, the songs are so deep/beatiful and i cry everytime i hear this song remembering about my past
@sunkenbumnuts Lol.. those who say Radiohead songs all sound the same, heard about 1 radiohead song. Listen to Bodysnatchers and Last Flowers and Like Spinning Plates, and you have the answer.
there is something really powerful about this song and this entire in the basement series. it is hard to put into words, this song is so emotional. thom would be cherished in any era, any land
I wonder why they left this one off In Rainbows?? Alot of bands out there have like two good songs on an album and they rack there brains conjuring up a few half assed songs to fill in the gaps and get that album on the shelves ASAP... but Radiohead has soo many good songs they actually have to leave some out...
