Another explanation is that those long ago descendants of Gog's territory now scattered throughout Eurasia and Europe who may end up fighting Gog and his Allies may also be considered Magog because they are Descendants of the land of Gog(Persia).
Ran out of space. So what I am saying is Magog represents countries in the region that are allied with Gog that will fight along side Gog's Armies. If we look at Current events we see that Iran is a major problem for Israel and Iran is Allying itself to Syria, parts of Lebanon, Iraq, and Possibly even Turkey. It is also Possible that other countries in the region who are not Allied with Gog but are decsendants of Gog's territory may fight against Gog's Armies thus on the side of Israel.

Well this seems best explained when we know what "Ma" is. Ma translated in the Hebrew text means from so Magog means from Gog. So in simplest terms Magog can mean from the region of Iran or tribes (groups) allied to Iran that are close to Iran. So I think that Gog is "leader" and Magog is Followers.???
On my opinion, Gog is the one which is going to be attacked, and Magog (sounds like 2 words, Ma-Gog) will be the attackers, not attacker but attackers because "Magog" sounds to me like 2 words.
Another crazy thing pop'd in my head if "Gog" will attack first it'll be a war for 3 years, if "Magog" will attack first it will be a war for 5 years.
@BringersOfTruth magog can be translated as "from gog" wo i think it refers to those allied with gog. the arab spring which is clearing out room for iran supporters. I am personally very scared. i know at the end of this will be goodness but it may be a very scary time til then. i wish i knew how to protect my children. my daughter has a phobia of war.
