Most compact HD camcorders can't record in Stereo and only have a digital zoom. This Samsung camera can record 2 channel audio and it has a 10x optical zoom.
I did notice though that the nice microphone is on the bottom front of the camera. If you are already pointing down camera to take video it seems like a bad place for the mic.
What is the audio quality like? Videomaker magazine wrote a review on the SMX-C14 same version as this camera but it also can take still shots. The C14 records 2 channel audio at 24KHZ at 128MBS. Most compact HD cameras for $150-200 can't record in Stereo. Most compact camera's only have a Digital Zoom. This Samsung has a 10X optical Zoom.
This camera has a nicer looking lens that goes down to F 1.8. The Flip Mino HD can only go down to F 2.4. The Kodak ZI6 F 2.8.
I've looked this camera up on google and everything I read aout it sounds great.But...I need too know,is this camera good for concerts? The zoom is great but is the sound quality as great? is the picture quality great? And if not,could you tell me about a camera that is good for concerts?
@dereklim1985 i have this camcorder..it IS HD, but not 1080. its 720, and its better than a few of the "HD 1080p" ones that are higher resolution, low megapixel. also, this video was posted as a 360p not 720, therefore video quality got kicked in the nuts.

not bad zoom - that 10x optical zoom is handy

i was considering buying this camcorder but I guess I should opt for high definition since the quality isn't really that spectacular.
