hey.... minimize the image, hit CNTRL+R and you create rulers, Then use a calculator to figure itout. *Cough* or just look at HAZhosts post, then place a ruler there at each mark :D
ok dude i did it in my head there are eight cans so do about 1/2 of a can maybe less lol because 8 * 2 = 16 and 16 is one less than 17 ok??? oh btw im 12 and i got that right away! :D
For anyone who did everything this guy said and still don't have the battery image show up - 1) Check if the picture was saved with a ".png" next to it. If not, change it to ".png" when you save it and then press export (then of course delete the other file that didn't work). 2) Delete "My Theme" after taking it off your setting on winterboard then put it back on WinSCP then winterboard and respring 3) Make a new folder under "My Theme" called "Bundles" then drag com.apple.springboard into it
If you want to find 1/17 of your battery image why dont u just get out a calculator and work out what it is, then set ur selection tool as the correct aspect ratio to select 1/17? It's hardly rocket science
i had a problem at first with my sliders not working. when i typed in gray for the unlock slider i spelled it grey and its spelled gray. hope that helps
sorry about my last post ok all i want to know is were do i put my pics and what name does the the folders need to be in order for it to work once again sorry about my last post
Dividing into 17 slices is definitely easier than that. You don't have to use trial and error. The easiest and most accurate is cdlusby1's way, you can also use ferrariguy25's... The only thing I'll add to those is that if the first frame is going to be blank (not a part of the image), then you will have to divide it into 16 slices (where #1 will be blank, and #2-17 will be slices 1-16). Definitely easier and much more accurate for those who want it to turn out better and waste less time.
Also, getting the 17 parts isn't as hard as you say... if the battery image always has to be 264 pixels in width, then all you have to do is divide 264 by 17 which equals 15.53 (rounded up)
okay so i made all BatteryBG_1-17. but when i add it to winter board and change to my custom theme on my ipod the battery doesnt show up on my lockscrean.... please help me out. =(
okay, just for all of you out there, you don't have to guess how much to select each time... after you have your image you want in the battery area, you can use the slice tool and drag it over the whole image. After that is selected you can right click and choose "divide slice" and choose divide vertically into "17" slices. then you will have a grid to go by how much to select. I'd make a video but i don't have a camera
kudos dude, the easy way to measure how far you should go is taking the width (264) and dividing it 17 which gives you 15.7 pixels alternate between 15 and 17 or stick with 16. Other than that awesome thanks for the help!
Does ne one know how to make custom keypads/dialers using photoshop on windows vista? if so please leave a comment. Also can u believe there are no videos for this modification, how weird. "."
what you can do it measure across 15.52 (rounded to 16) pixles everytime.which is 2.5cm across on 500% zoom on a 1024 by 768 pixel resolution setting =]
It's easy to make it equally divided. Divide the picture in half. Divide each half in half. And so on until you have 17 pieces. Use rulers if that program has it.
Yeah, I was just wandering... I already have CS4, need it for my job... But all the people who customize their iPod are using this version of Photoshop apparently... At least that's what I see in all the videos... So I was wandering why...
Hey SubJuiced, don't mind him as your helping many people with your videos :) but how do you do lockscreens? Uh also why don't you try torrents of CS3? I did that :P!
i have all my 17 images saved into one folder - com.apple.springboard and its in my theme folder but the batteries are not showing up while charging, have any idea whats wrong?
I really appreciate this, but not in the way you might think. I knew all of these steps from long internet research (Your video was probably better, but what can I do now lol). I had everything, but it still wasnt working. Then i found your video, and i realized i had but BatteryBB instead of BatteryBG.
And how do you actually get them in?

If you use "blank" as a first image like in the video you should make 16 more images. 264/16=16.5 pixels

Wtf is everyone doing with those fucked up versions of photoshop? Why don't you just use CS4?
m3phisto666 3 years ago
its not a fucked up version. its the cheaper version. maybe we dont want to pay $600 for a program
SubJuiced 3 years ago
Ok, well I guess that's allright if you don't need the features 'n you don't use it that often...
