Half-life. HL completely revolutionized shooters as we know it. HL2 went on to raise the bar for every shooter. Its story is deep and interesting, especially for an FPS, the gameplay never gets repetitive and is always presenting something new and interesting. and valve has painstakingly played every part over and over to make sure that it was right. the same can be said with the other games in the orange box. It doesnt just outdo halo, it outdoes every shooter on the market.

There are 2 half life 2 online co-op mods.

Synergy: play the half life 2 saga up to 15 people or play custom created maps and play with up to 24 people against the computer.

Follow freeman: Play custom maps up to 25 players.

Online co-op: half life2 (mods) > Halo

In my experience, from console to PC (I used to have an Xbox with Halo and HL2), Halo and HL2 are good in their own ways. Both have excellent stories (though HL2's is far from over), killer multiplayer (Halo 3's frag-em-all affair and TF2's team based tactical assaults), and of course, their own ways of telling the stories they bring forth. If nothing, both games will stand the test of time for what they are.

I still love Half Life the most, I must say.

Half Life one won 50 Game Of the Year awards, which, you must admit, is something special.

Halo series has a more in your face story than Half life, In half Life, your still figuring out about Freemans history, who the Gman is, etc.

When In Halo, you learn everything so quickly and get sucked into the game.

Half life is alot different, yet so great.

It is more changable than Halo,alot more able to make mods, addons, etc.But Halo is not able to.

Please. I have all of the game consoles. And Halo is just casual play. Orange box tops everything. Gameplay, Price, Value, Story, pretty much everything. The reason why Halo is so popular is because it's one of few games that came out that was good and addicting. Then halo 2 and Halo 3 was hooked of the rest. HL:1 won well over 35 awards. As for gameplay, i would give it to HL2 by a small margin, as half life has always had fun, dynamic firefights (not to mention source engine =D), and i've only seen those kinds of battles in the 2nd and 3rd halos. The big winner here is how you can manipulate your environment and pick up objects in HL2, even if there are few instances to do so.

Well, in terms of say, HL2+expansions vs Halo series (haven't played HL1), I thought Halo had a more epic feel to it, and was a bit more "powerful" for lack of a better word. Though HL2 has a better story in terms of depth etc, i thought Halo's story was far more engaging.

Graphics, i'd say tied, they both have excellent, detailed graphics.
