It's quicker to use a mine just outside the room with the first computer that opens the first security door. Plant it, detonate it, run under the stairs and get the key. With luck, the guards should be dead, open the door and race round to go through. You can compensate for the lost mine by planting one on the ground between four of the gas tanks.

I love this one because doak is so unpredictable. The stars have to perfectly align for doak to be in the lab, you still have enough life, and far enough ahead of the title wave of enemies catching up to you.

ah yes! as i'm sure you well know, by the time you get to Mishkin's room there's at least a million guards following you so when you finally get there you need to position yourself behind the boxes in a place where Mishkin can see you (and hence commence talking to you) but where the guards can't see you from the door (coz they'll blast you to kingdom come and also scare Natalya away)-they will stop at the door. i found the archives cheat really easy. Start by exiting the interigation room and crossing the corridor into the opposite door. Run like crazy through there and up the stairs. Take the first right and go save Natalia. Hopefully she doesn't get 'scared' and then run down to Mishkin. Again you need to hope no enemies come and Natalia stays with you. Run out the window and your sweet.
yes what you do is when you start the archives level dont pick up the gun on the table run up to the gaurd near the big cabinet and slap him. once you have the key run all the way up to were nat is being held dont shoot anyone!! it wastes time. then when you have nat with you run down to were mishkin is grap the stuff from the safe wen he gives you the key then run out the downstairs window and it should take u 1.18 or so.... thats how i got it!!
its actually really easy, just dart round the table and slap the guy on the right then run like hell to where natalya is without firing any bullets then just yank the door open so she sees you then sprint downstairs to miskins room and listen to him rant before grabbing the box. Then run out the OTHER door and turn left down the hall through the door and crack open the window and youre home free :P The only bullets you fire should be the ones to break the window at the end.
@DerEdleWolf Buddy, you're not doing anything wrong. Dr. Doak's appearance is pure chance. This is the hardest cheat code to get, because it's all random chance that he'll be waiting for you at the end, rather than another location. Keep at it. It's going to be a tough motherfucker, but once you do it...you're gonna feel like a fucking champ!
@markfmark1988 I got my Game Shark at a Pawn shop. You could also try Ebay, I imagine there's still some out there for sale. But there was no cheat available to get past that ventilation hole. Believe me, I tried everything there is to try with that game shark lol. There are some cool features you can only do with the game shark. Like walking through doors that are usualy locked. While playing Surface, you can go thru the bunker door and down the hall.
It took me around 3-4 hours for me to finally get the invincibility cheat code. Of course that was also about 10 years ago, which is when I was better at it.
Not bad bro, my record is 1:45 on this one but doak wasn't in as nifty a spot as that..it's funny watching this cause I always wondered how other people managed to do this in a way different than the way I did. I'd tell you how I did it in detail if this place didn't have this damn 500 character limit, let's just say I use a few remote mines earlier on..they will save you a lot of health, I remember barely getting shot at all on my record run. it is difficult - plus you need to rely on that Dr Doak dude to be in the right place (coz sometimes he's at the complete opposite side of the stage to where you need him to be). and bro... by the end of this attempt, I thought I was a goner!! you might notice me starting to freak out when I get to the top of the set of stairs lol.

this was pretty sloppy. i used to blow up the crates by the keycode door which would kill the guards inside then go around the back steps.
i still think 2x rc-p90 was the hardest cheat to get.
