Amuro Rei's name is a reference to the Japanese Zero fighter of WW2. He was born in Canada according to Dynasty Warriors Gundam. Dunno where people are reading that he's part American.

If they do a live-action version of the 1st series, I hope they do it right for everyone(fans and non-fans). Because the Star Trek new movie was a bit of stroke of luck, when they remake it. I wonder what would be starring for Amuro Ray. An Western or Asian?

Well.... the gundam series usually have a taste of western and muslim type. And during that time most of the characters is big haired.

So i would go for western WHO knows how to speak japanese, or they keep it normal like speaking english. Who knows?

I have to say that I disagree with those wanting to remake the original series. It's a classic and should be appreciated for what it is, I believe that remaking it would hurt it's credibility and the credibility of Sunrise - I would rather see a new Gundam series.

I would actually like a sequel to Char's Counterattack, since it was never confirmed whether Char & Amuro died (I know they did in the novelization, but they aren't canon as Amuro would have died in the 0079 if they were).

i wish they would make this kind of quality for the gundam 0079 series jsut to remake it i had an idea in my head how about they should make a gundam series called Gundam: RX Team you know how theres RX projects that built RX-78-1 then 2 then 3 then there was RX-78NT-1 then there was RX-79 ground types then there was an Ez-8 then the zeta gundam and all that stuff u knwo what i mean

Oh,ic,u're American.The Gundam series is from Japan since 1979,and became very famous in the pan chinese region(Taiwan,HongKong)later on.Many guys at 30,40 have affection with it.This series is very realistic albeit it is a cartoon,and its story is about human not fighting aliens.Also,the author said the image of Zeon (the bad side)is from Nazi Germany.I am regret that it seems not likely to have English version,other the western audience can also view it.
