It wasn't a bad concept when you consider the success of the PS3 and XBox 360's online game downloading popularity. TekToy built essentially the same thing as the Phantom with their Zeebo that earned International success. I remember thinking I would have bought a Phantom at the time of the initial announcement way back when (2003 perhaps). A shame that it never had a chance.

I remember being really excited about this. Shame it never happened, stats-wise it looks like it could have taken on the Xbox easily. Probably not the 360 or PS3 though. BTW, actually came here slightly by accident but when I saw you wrote the music, I wanted to ask how you got involved. I'm looking to getting into music or sound design for games myself.

It seemed like a good idea at the time, but honestly I would rather just have a gaming PC than something like this. I came real close to pre-ordering this back in 2005 but after they missed the third deadline I decided not to.

That thing isn't so great now that we have motion tracking, blue-ray, 600GB hard drives, downloadable content like crazy, and so much more of the Wii, 360, and PS3, but they were neat ideas at the time. :P

I foolishly may have purchased this system had it seen the light of day. And by the way guys, any rumors of Nintendo's interest in this is utterly false. This was a pump and dump scam to the book. A shame because while it would surely have failed in the long run, it was an interesting idea.

I heard that secretly Nintendo baught them out, and are going to use there technology combine with their own to create the new Nintendo system after the Wii. I also heard that nintendo's next console with have 1:1 motion detection and will atleast be on par with PS3 or more powerful and the first game with be a realistic Metriod.

The CEO was and is the subject of a number of SEC investigatinos, they didn't even have an OFFICE by the time this vid was released.

i heard that's bullshit because at E3 this year i heard that Infinium Labs is going to release a new console in 2012. Also, by the time Nintendo decides to actually do that (which i highly dought they will) Microsoft and Sony will just come out with something better. Wii is doing pretty good right now so i doubt if Nintendo is going to shift it's focus elsewhere, i mean i know they're a huge company but they're Chinese and don't wanna make the same mistake as with Gamecuve this time.
