  • that was at Howards Homecoming. 2010. they were battle cardoza. Its was a pretty good battle. Ballou drumline was scared to block up tho. Cardoza drumline line was ready and they sound very very good that day.

  • uhm this isnt the You Got Me ive heard played by countless band and do you even have a drumline, because i couldn't hear them at all

  • i like this band. they played that song o.d fast though. what are they trojans?...spartans? whatever...

  • @BlaccPocohontas. Knighta

  • @TomazHilton whatever

  • ..And I can say for myself that BKMT is not the same band you saw in October. I don't know anything about Ballou High School or who they march with because honestly I don't give a crap but don't come on YouTube to trash talk BKMT and please, keep your insulting comments to yourself. Do not act all hard over a keyboard. The SMU will be coming to a town near you soon. Have a nice day!

  • Stop the malarkey! You people are arguing back and forth like little kids. @TomazHilton Honestly, you were insulting BKMT. You haven't seen BKMT since October 24th. A lot can happen between that time and now..

  • @FrankieBaBii060 I wasbt insulting anyone. I was just making statements of what I heard. If y'all can't take opinion stop replyin and gangin up on my videos. I HAVE NOT said y'all suck or even y'all were great (which I think y'all are). And I have CLEARLY stated that I haven't heard y'all since howard which mean y'all would obviously been improving yalls musicianship tthats why I have said everything in PAST TENSE, gees Y'all seriously don't know how to freakin read nor comprehend.

  • You should direct your comments about the SMU to one of our videos...i.e. Hollywood, because this conversation has nothing to do with Ballou, it's just you speculating things about a band that you know nothing about. If you want to critique my band, then do it on their clips. You agreed with my drummer that they didn't sound clean..so lets leave it at that. The SMU had nothing to do with this clip until you brought up our name. You should have kept this between you and the student, not my band.

  • @TomazHilton yoooo you havent seen us since howard so just close ya mouth. Stop acting like you know shit. We all know ballou gonna march some alum but we aint trippin at all we still gonna crank on them. You should come witness the beat down.

  • @Lpfan3121 Also with alumni, like that old Trumpet player in the videos who is the only one screaming... yea.... Your BD even said hes a alumni but within the HS age. o yea sorry to say Ballou havent march alumni, they marched with MS school members and new freshmen, though right now they are smaller than last year right now.

  • @TomazHilton We actually had three screamers. We didn't march alumni at Howard. We have 8 year olds in our band program that play instruments. And right now more than half of the current band is in middle school. What point are you trying to make by bashing my program? This has nothing to do with Ballou or the piece that is posted. This is becoming petty and I am about ready to return the favor. It is obvious that you have a problem with the U...but I am glad I can finally see your true colors.

  • @JSMLeadership but you told me you had one person on trumpet that is a old head on I'M. I don't have a problem with y'all. I just don't like it when someone over exaggerate false statements about a bands performance like it was the worse thing they heard. Your the one with the problem of disiplining your kids online.

  • 1st, old head does not mean alumni at all..alumni means alumni. I don't discipline students online...it is their free time and they also have a right to free speech. I don't believe it is my job or any one else's to censor my band students from speaking their mind. I don't feel like he/she over exaggerated anything, the way the opening comment was made was correct...the stuff about drumline is just because it's the section he plays with. Kids will be kids and I'm not going to stop that.

  • I am a fan of Ballou...big time...but my prodigy is right...intonation is off...this isn't one of their better arrangements...but it doesn't make Ballou any less of a beast. Ballou is and will continue to be our best rivalry, the most musical and the most enjoyable to compete against.

  • @JSMLeadership Hes SLIGHTLY right, but the camera is directly infront of the band so it WILL pick up even the quietest out of tune instrument.. it wasnt like each section were playing the song is different keys. The band were just warming up before they got in parade formation. Yes the arrangment wasnt there best but it was a groovy arrangement ment for pep band., didint even know they had this song in there book cause it doesnt fit them at all.

  • @TomazHilton SLIGHTLY right?....not wrong. Meant for pep band? Doesn't Fit Them?

  • @TomazHilton we didn't got o nationals this year due to problems with our school....we aren't housed out of music and theatre anymore. Opinions are opinions though...but so are facts.

  • this is bad...empty...where r the chords...weak bones...mellos don't blend at all...no intination...drumline...straight trash...cum to heritage... may 30...get beasted on...yall srry...jus stop

  • @baddestdrummer1165 if your from bkmt, don't worry bout the nationals comment since y'all don't plan on attending but I'm talkin to yo bd right now lettin him know his members are bashin bands.

  • @baddestdrummer1165 if your from bkmt please don't talk.. when I last heard y'all. Ya bones were non existant, mellos were all over the place Drumline was louder then ya tubas .. o yea ballous mellos were beautifull, you can't say that about many bands these days, they played with the band now against. Them wit the altos were the had the best part. Your just not use to that arrangment since yalls comes from bksmb via alabama st. U.

  • @TomazHilton excuse me sir...my music comes from me...and for you to go this low to insult a child is sad, man. Problems or not...our band is a beast...and you are way out of your league to try to dissect my ensemble and you don't even know what you are listening to..if you have a problem with it...start your own band and come battle us...see how well you do against the almighty SMU...alabama state smmfh.....JSU Sonic Boom all day...all night...

  • @JSMLeadership 1. I didnt insult anyone, an "insult" is a personal offense. I just put the person in his or hers place. 2, yes your band is a beast, problems or not. like Gramblin, they sound horrible or not how they should... yes you write your bands arrangements but they "Originally" came from other people Case In point your arrangement of You Got Me is from Bamma St, like the steppers arrangement.

  • @TomazHilton You know what tho, I'm going to take your comment about Grambling as a compliment...most people would agree that Grambling sounds like a great high school band...The arrangement of You Got Me that we play was written by Clerence Gibson of TxSU...and just so you know, if I don't write it, Nathan Haymer or C. Gibosn did....ohhh and so you know...I am the person who taught and conducted You Got Me for the BK Steppers. Shows how little you know about my program. Watch closer...

  • @JSMLeadership sorry to say but that does NOT mean a thing. Yes he written the arrangement but its based off of ASU. do a search, they play the same arrangment. i searched TXSU and nothing came up.. This is like SMB calling there WAR their arrangment when the crap came from Highland Springs HS, although the steppers arranger wrote it.

  • @TomazHilton uhhh he wrote it from the Great Houston All Star Band in 2006 though the song originally was played in New Orleans by Carver High School as early as 2001 I believe, but I'll look it up and give you the exact date if you'd like. Alabama States arrangement was written based off of the one that we play...the one Gibson Wrote for GHASB. These are facts.

  • @TomazHilton Case and point or arrangement is from TXSU written by C. Gibson. Dont run ya mouth if you dont know nothing.

  • @TomazHilton yo have ballou's mellos come see JSMLI's mellos. They beter not be bring this trash to heritage.

  • @Lpfan3121 to tell you the truth, i know they really dont care about other peoples sections but i know yall dont want to see the Drumline, Dancers or Tbone section.

  • @TomazHilton Tomaz, we will see that whole band. Just come be in the crowd and bring that camera and record.

  • @TomazHilton Fact is that in 2008 I created a band from scratch with beginners. We have since then restarted our program several times, refilling the ranks with a new set of beginning band students. Although we aren't as good as we will be, will are still competition for Ballou and the other high school bands in the area. The band that you saw at Howard is not the same anymore at all. If you knew the musical arrangement, you'd know what part the trombones played, you can hear every section.

  • @TomazHilton we had 4 tubas btw...all beginners. The drumline is very balance to my band. It is called style, and maybe you are just unfamiliar with what we are doing up here to understand what I am aiming for. Our arrangements don't come from the Steppers either, this is now becoming an insult as our two bands are like night and day. The SMU and SMB have two different, conflicting styles in every aspect of band. SMB is our rival..but I will admit to playing War as our "Brooklyn" song...retired.

  • @JSMLeadership see your failing to comprehend, I never said y'all have anything of bksmb. I said y'all share the same arangment (thought written by two totally different people) of You Got Me. Yes I am familiar with the swac sound drumline but coming from a drumline of 24 members ( 4 tonals,4 dead basses) in total band of 70. We had to know when to calm down and play soft so we wouldn't overpower the band. Especially with the 5 tubas we had.

  • Your band experience has noting to do with our style of playing or execution. My drums don't over play my band....you can here us loud and clear, search BSMT SMU and do your research. If you need more information here you go: Our bass drums are tuned to a low D on the Bass Clef. They are meant to interact with our Sousaphone Section. If I don't have a problem with the sound of my drumline, you shouldn't either because you aren't their director, nor did you march where the style was created.

  • @baddestdrummer1165 dude like the drumline is even heard during this song idk if there drumline exist in this clip.

  • this doesnt sound good at all..
