  • Yes we now reject slavery, genocide, etc... all things

    , Christianity endorses.

  • Gravity is just a theory. I'll be off flying now.

  • If it is bullshit, then explain yourself. Don't just make a claim and expect anyone to take it serious.

Or are you just being an asshole again?

    Most likely it's the latter.

  • @village1diot

From an socio/psychological view its perfectly okay for you to sit on your chairs and insult religion(though you do it in a way that it would be hard for one to critique you on, so congrads for being smart.) I mean Christianity and other religions are a threat to your social group and it's a basic psychological response for you to 'demonize' the enemy(Religious groups do it to you also so...). And dont try and say your not demonizing the enemy because you are.

  • @sarsfieldusmc So we're being like the Christians who teach that children will burn in hell for eternity merely for not believing in Jesus for criticising this brutish teaching...By golly I should have known! I am lowering myself to the Christians and Muslims by daring questioning teaching the cruel notion of eternal torment!

What a crock of s***. I better not defend myself against a potential murderer, because if I fire a bullet in self defence- I'm just like him, I fired a bullet!

  • @therock27374 Lol? Whats your point?

  • @sarsfieldusmc

Unlike Christians and Muslims who justify the eternal suffering of non-believers, I would never justify the same treatment towards Christians and Muslims. "Demonising the enemy..." The ideology which muffles the innate morality we have to justify eternal torment for unbelievers is what should be demonised though I wonder how people could/would allow such ideologies to do such things to their morality. We've seen how dogmatic ideologies make people devalue the life of others.

"I mean Christianity and other religions are a threat to your social group"

Christianity to an extent (as followers no longer kill apostates), also Islam. Various other religions like Jainism and Sikhism pose no threat nor do they wish to impose their religion onto us or in govt. When there's an ideology/group seeking to enforce its ways on others, it seems difficult to not appear as if you're demonising them, making your post pointless.

  • @therock27374 I forgot to add the following point. A group may find another group a threat to their sociological group, even though that 'threat' isn't really a threat. "They are different so they are bad" mentality.

  • @village1diot oh yea i mean no disrepect, just explaining why you do what you do.

  • Religion is child abuse, plain and simple.

    _______

Without doubt, one of the factors in the emergence of anti-religious ideas and a phalanx of deniers of God, has been the false teachings, the inadequacies and the intellectual perversions of the followers of some religions. The peculiarities and separate characteristics of each religion must, therefore, be individually examined when studying the reasons that have led men to adhere to that religion. ...

  • The atheist Delusion!

Your delusions that science has put out the notion of God is purely rhetorical and has nothing to do with logical method, because even thousands of scientific experiments could not possibly suffice to demonstrate that no non-material being or factor exists. Your claim is nothing more than a fanatical illusion based on unproven theories. Views such as these derive directly from a system of thought centered on materialism; within it, ....

  • @1tabligh Yes it's possible and it's called Casimir's effect. You're welcome.

  • @85Damix Even if the followers of a religious school of thought had no proofs for their claim, to conclude firmly and forcibly that non- being reigns beyond the sensory realm would be a non-scientific choice, based on imagination and speculation.

  • to conclude firmly and forcibly that non- being reigns beyond the sensory realm would be a non-scientific choice, based on imagination and speculation.

Some people try to propagate this fantasy in the garb of science and to present their choice as having been dictated by scientific thought. In the final analysis, however, the denial involved in such an assertion is unworthy of science and philosophy, and even contradicts empirical logic.

  • I totally agree with her on the proving the bible facts. They use science to prove the biblical time line; then when Indian and Germans used that same science to disprove the Aryan invasion myth they denied it, but still teach a myth proven wrong since before the 1920`s.

We know nothing about the true history of mankind and our planet thanks to these influences. Even today they will only allow so much room for change; keeping the history of man compressed to within the Religious time frames.

  • Atheist China will beat us soon.

  • Perhaps it's a little late and I am tired but what is the last part mean that she says about science and the history of the bible with exodus. I am sure I will get it after I wake up but my brain is on emergency power so if anyone can elaborate feel free.

  • Thank you for bringing to us "The Atheist Experience" programmes. They are so good! It's refreshing.
