Thanks...yup, we got lucky this year with a nice harvest (and today I harvested another 12 tomatoes and 8 cucumbers...still got flowers on tomatoes and cukes. Many of my friends' gardens were destroyed by blight early on in the season so I'm happy that I can provide them with some of mine! I appreciate your comment! -George
Robert, did you make soup with the vines or the tomatoes? heh heh... yes, I like to pick my cukes smaller but these were hidden behind my tomato plants...I kinda let the cucumber plants roam all over my raised bed and now they are also climbing a small tree next to the raised bed. Thats great about your tomato soup...I'm gonna try that. Do you have a certain recipe you use or do you add extra ingredients after you thaw the soup? -George
Lookin' good there Farmer George. I always pick my cucumbers before they get quite that large. My cucumbers went caput a couple of weeks ago. I've still got lots of tomatoes though, although my vines look pretty bad. I've made a couple of big pots of soup with mine and froze it in freezer bags.
