  • How sad the end for a Grand old Lady of the Sea!, Far better that she be scuttled in mid Atlantic, than to end up in the hands of their ilk! What a tragedy!

  • She will be missed. I actually filmed the QE2 final visits to Liverpool, Greenock (and the Clyde) and Southampton to give the QE2 a well deserved send off and to create a video memoir of her final days in the UK. You should take a look. You can find the video's on my channel in a special playlist I have created.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • I get the shudders every time she blows her horn. Thnaks for the video - it's great !

  • Hi jan91390

Her horn is the best of any ship I have seen and it will be sad day when the horn finally falls silent. I have just posted my lastest video showcasing the the ships final day in Southampton before being decomissioned. It should be live very shortly and is well worth a look.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I've just come back off the QE2! shes a lovely ship, i've had many happy times on her and i'm so sad to see her go

  • Hi jdnottm

Thanks for posting. She is an incredible ship. I've just uploaded my final goodbye video to the QE2 capturing the events held on November 11 2008 at Southampton and also have a video of her on the Clyde - thought you might be interested.

    Thanks again for posting.

  • Thats fine hehe i was in the crowd in mayflower park yesterday!! it was heartbreaking to see her go

  • I have been luck enough to book on the Red Funnel Ferry at Southampton that will escort her out into the Solent on her very last voyage in November. She will take up residence in Dubai. Who knows one day I may even get out there to see her again....not totally sure I would like to see her in situ though

  • I was on the Mersey Ferry Royal Daffodil that day and it wasn;t cold it was freezing. but that was soon forgotten when we sailed out to meet QE2 in the mouth of the river bathed in cool October sunshine she looked magnificent as usual. The.Liverpool Sky line so much changed in recent years the perfect back drop for the ship....or was until I saw her on the Clyde and I am a scouser born and bred. Great vid and a great way to remember her! Thank you

  • its great how the three mersey ferries seen her on her way great stuff

  • Very nice tribute. A shame I couldn't be there myself. I'll be in Southampton though when she leaves for the last time.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • great footage
