that was so cool how you found the exact spots to match up the pre and post scenes. Post is so thoroughly seared that it's barely recognizable as Ascalon, at least when I play. So this was a real triumph on your part.

Thx, I seem to have a talent for recognising the places from Old Ascalon in the new one ^^ When i first entered the new detroyed Ascalon, i was like: ow no what happened :p so i kinda started to discover what happened to all my favourite places :D And one year later i used all that for this vid^^ Im glad you like it, thanks for the post x

Very cool video, wonderfull transitions from pre-searing Ascalon to the same places in post-searing. I play GW and thought of making such a movie, guess you beaten me to it. Great job.

No problem, we should get the fimling done and launching a trailer sometime this month, if all goes well we should be able to have a screening at a cinema in may, so by June we should be able to launch a full version with english subtitles here at youtube.

What happens to ascalon?? aaugh i want to play guild wars so bad :( is ascalon the main country? my sis thinks the ascalon warriors are hot lol

Ascalon is the city where the game starts... It's where you start training and live etc... then there is a war (between the humans and the Charr) and you go fighting. When you come back everything is completely destroyed (by the Charr). It's what the game makes so sad and yet beautiful. After seeing Ascalon destroyed, you start your journey to a new and better world. Ascalon is not the main city, but its where the story starts. If you want to play GW, then i'd say... GO FOR IT :)!

aw don't spoil it lol I'm lucky, I didn't know the back story, so my jaw dropped when I saw the animation play the first time I clicked "yes, I'm ready to leave the training area" or whatever it says. I had to delete my character and start over (hey, YOU try playing post with a cashless lvl 3 lol), but it was worth it...

Happened to me too ^^ *flasback* I was happily killing at pre searing, being happy... killing happy monsters etc.. Anyway, and then my other two gw obsessed friends said 'hey do that quest, so you'll be with us" So i was like owkey ^_^ and then i arrived at the new ascalon -_- Dang, it was a shock.. Luckily they brought me to yaks bend and i was like 'ooh snow..' so i was happy again^^
