  • A slide trumpet and a soprano trombone are exactly the same thing. Same key same mouthpiece everything is the same.

  • @kennyyoyoyo they're not the same

a soprano trombone has a longer bell section

whereas slide trumpet has a shorter bell section

  • HOLD YOUR SLIDE CORRECTLY!! ha jk but seriously

  • stay low, that thing sounds horrible when you go high

  • holy shit

  • Lol, awesome. XD

  • sweet, didn't know these existed!

  • Soprano Trombone...

  • Soprano trombone uses a trombone mouthpiece actually, slide trumpets actually use a trumpet mouthpiece so they ARE different I guess

  • @JeffZoch no, they are the same thing

  • How can I get a copy of that music? I've been looking for it to play on my trumpets.

  • No music. I played this by many, many times listening to this, and have learned it by ear.

  • @SeeSimoneAlexander It's called "MacArthur Park" dumbass lol

  • what brand is it i am looking at a jupiter for $400

  • It's a Berkeley. I got it on eBay for about $100.

  • nice last note there

    kinda struggled huh? lol

  • That was cool

  • was this in kill bill ?... the song sounds familiar.

  • Hey nice job! Im currently in highschool and play the trumpet. I want to get one of these just because they seem realy cool. I was just wondering is this called a slide trumpet, or a supprano trombone?

  • That's why I bought it- just for fun! I found it on e-bay for about $100. They are called both a slide trumpet or a soprano trombone.

  • @jswilliams74

i think "soprano trombone" is its official name. slide trumpet came from it's size, im guessing. but the actual slide trumpet looks nothing like a soprano trombone imo..

  • @cj614 got the name frome its range you play a trumpet and sop trumbone side by side they are exactly the same in sound and range

  • @jswilliams74 dose bereley sound good to you b/c im looking for a jupiter because its a name professinal brand

  • can be called either, the names are both the same instrument

  • @OriginalShrimpVendor i found a nice looking jupiter commently sold for 400 us going to get it soon i hope

  • very nice, just need a little more practice hitting the slide positions, i was thinking of getting a slide trumpet myself and was wondering watch music do you read trumpet/cornet/trombone and if trumpet/cornet, do you play in treble or did you find bass clef music for it?

  • Yeah, my positions need work. This video was shot a couple of days after I got it, so it was pretty dirty. I have been practicing it and am getting better. I usually read my trumpet music, but this was all by ear.

  • wow............that was good.btw,if u keep saying your not a lead slide trumpet player then your never going to be a slide trumpet player.

  • wat song is this?!?!?!

  • This is MacArthur Park by Maynard Ferguson

  • i like this a lot man. i play some slide trumpet myself from time to time. what mouthpiece do you use?

  • I was using a Marcinkiewics 10* for this. It's the only small mouthpiece that I have found that works for me.

  • thats pretty damn good considering you say that you're not a lead player

  • NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :D

  • wow man. you say your not a lead player but that was pretty good, even more impressive that it was on a slide. keep it up, i love that song

  • lol....awesome!
