destradoimpulse hit it on the head, boestch has been standing in and ufc likes guys who step up. also lets not forget UFC got its "meteoric" rise (majority of its NEW fanbase) after they saw Griffin v Bonnar on the TUF1 finale. they then expected UFC to be a slugfest every fight. ufc is still relatively new to most so we will be dealing with people who boo when it hits the mat or guys dont trade for 15 seconds for awhile.

Also, I agree with you about Boetch. I'm not sure why we have to see these two sloppy brawlers in a televised portion. To be honest neither of them look like a professional athlete, expecially Patt.

The closest fight I could compare this to is Eddie Sanchez vs Soa Paleli. I mean this fight was on the main card; I don't want to see two fat guys throwing bombs at eachother and getting tired within the first few minutes.

Perhaps that's what mainstream UFC fans want though.

Well Rashad knew to beat Chuck you have to keep him from backing up. Because he is one of the only people who can knock you the F*#k out while backing up. So Chuck was like I'm gonna engage him head on which is not usual for Chuck. Rashad fought a well-planned fight. And I think this might open a 'few' eyes LOL. Opened mine. Dude's on the radar now. But as for Chuck. One has to wonder he's never lost 2 in a row, KO'ed as he's been recently. But it's up to Chuck. We'll see.

Lee was a pride veteran and KOTC champion with a win over Travis wuiff(ufc veteran). his record was 13-3 with 10 subs and 3 ko's. he was a big favorite coming into his fight with sakara, therefore i wouldnt call him a can.

Who knows why crowds have to show such blatant disrespect for their fighters, and I think it's ridiculous that commentator condone their behavior and allow it to happen. Commentators and spokesmen for the sport are entitled to their opinion,but I believe they are partially obligated in making efforts to end such disrespectful behavior from the crowd. Yeah, those fans were arguably a new low. They booed during ANY stoppage, whether it was justified or not. "Illegal groin strike? Why are they stopping the fight? BOOOOOOOO!" Now multiply that by about a hundred.

You put it best, they just want the fighters to close their eyes and throw bombs. I assume they watch the UFC on TV, so I don't understand why they think every fight is going to be Forrest/Bonnar 1. Fights like that where the guys just cut loose are like 1 in 25, if not less frequent.

Honestly I didn't think ti was that big of an upset. I called Rashad to win although I said he would win by unanimous decision. Chuck had lost 2 of his last 3 fights when he fought rashad. CroCop was going up against a BJJ black belt who no one thought had any standup or if they did they didn't think ti was even near cropcops, everyone knew Rashad could strike well.
