the G8 GT is not a detuned LS2. LS2 is out of production.

The G8 GT has an L76, which is basically an LS2 block with the defining L76 heads and a smaller cam than what's in the LS2. Also, it's tuned for 87 octane, not 91.

Given that, I think the L76 performs really well, and with its L76 heads, which flow better than LS2 heads, a simple headers+intake+exhaust combo would yield HUGE gains (think 45+hp) and a cam swap will be simply ridiculous.
