  • An absolutely AWESOME beer!!

  • I absolutely loved it. Nothing too complex, but very enjoyable. Looks beautiful, smells wonderful, lively flavours. Some Belgians you can't have all the time. This I can drink pretty often. Sadly it's a bit hard to find. This and Maredsous are my favorite non-Chimay Belgians.

  • I live in affligem :)

    proud of our beer

  • what about rochefort 10? or westvleteren 12? st.bernardus? duvel? theres lots of better beers then this. This is like the middle of the road for belgian beers in my opinion. Good review CHEERS

  • aah another great Belgian beer ;D

  • Try Affligem Patersvat.

Probably very hard to obtain abroad..

    Greetz from Belgium

  • The LCBO has it this Month - MARCH 09

    Love Chimay as well!

  • Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, thats what i use to get people started.

  • not knowing much about beer whats a really common beer that has a good taste?

  • I'd say Newcastle Brown Ale is pretty common world wide and would be a fairly safe bet. Bass is also a decent "starter beer" for those looking to try something other than the really big name mass-produced stuff..

  • Had my first Affligem (blonde) tonight and I have to agree with your appraisal. very nice. I liked it enough that I bought the glass. ;o)

  • drinking one as i watch this. the bottle fermentation gives it a champaign like quality. little bubbles that contribute to the flavor. high alcohol that you never will notice. chimay may have its work cut out. affligem doesn't approach you as arrogantly either. six pack, ten bucks. i'm a brewer and i would give my life to brew something this fine.

  • If u come across somewhere whit ''Sinebrychoff Porter'' i would like to see u giving review of that, since its rly only finnish beer worth tasting there :o It has been elected one of the best imported beers in US and won couple silver medals in beer olympics and many other beer prizes around the globe :PPP just pointing out as a finnish beer lover if u happen to ever see it in your liquor store xD

  • The beer looks good. Will look for it.

  • Damn, you get a cold, or something? Hope you feel better.

  • Yeah, I just got over a week and a half of the worst cold I've had in about ten years. Still had a bit of a lingering cough. I'm much better now, thankfully. Cheers.

  • I have to look for this one. I like the glass too. Thanks for letting me know about this one.

  • Yeah, she's a sweet little goblet.

  • I picked up their Christmas pack there at the LCBO, I'll do a video response sometime in the next week.

  • Sweet. I look forward to seeing that.

  • Never had them, but if I come across them I'll do a review. Thanks.

  • Nice review! Can't wait to try this.

Have you tried any brews from Stoudt's? It's an American brewery and I don't know if they export up there but if they do, I hope you give them a try. My favorites so far are their Fat Dog Stout and their Double IPA. Dogfish Head is another stellar craft brewery in the U.S. I had some of their Punkin' Ale over Thanksgiving and it was wonderful!
