  • What does this mean? 月のどろぼう

  • well:

月 - means "moon, month or Monday if is an abreviation"

どろぼう - without kanji I presume that means "thief"

so It can mean: the thief of the moon, the thief of Monday or the thief of the month"

  • 億(おく) is a hundred million, not only 1 million. They screwed up!

    1 million is 一千万(いっせんまん)

  • Superb video, japanesepod101! Really informative and easy to follow! Videos like that really freshen up my Japanese, thank you! Please keep making them!

  • Well, it's pretty self-explanatory most of the time. If you find と between nouns, A と B, it means "and". If it's behind a verb, it's usually used conditionally.

と can also mean "with", as in 友達と (with my friend); it can also be used to describe the way something happens, as in ゆっくりと (slowly, "in a slow manner").

Great books for Japanese grammar are the Makino&Tsutsui-series.

And to answer your last question: practice, listen and repeat! ;-)

  • I'll let you in on a secret! We're actually going to do a series of audio lessons about Particles starting next year :) If you need help with particles, I highly recommend them!

  • thanks

  • lol 9/28 is my birthay :3
