  • there going to have to change it no way it sounds so off

  • This is an exellent song,in German and english!Congradulations OOMPH! just when you thought they were the best...they just keep gettin' better and better. i suscribed!

  • OOMPH just released a few short clips of some of the other English songs on their facebook fan page, and let me tell you: They are WAY better than this...so if this song isn't doing it for you, wait until you hear some of the others, the English translations fit perfectly into the song, unlike this one (in my opinion).

  • Wow.i'd never thought that people would be so critical about the english version. Its like reading a book and then going to see the movie. It's not going to be exactly alike. You can't do that when you translate. You can't literally translate a sentence word for word in english cause then it wouldn't make any sense. It only makes sense to do the songs in english. Honestly, Most people haven't even heard the German version so it won't matter!

  • This isn't even what they say in german they really sucked at translation.

  • Well if they translated directly not only would "Augen auf, ich komme" not really make sense, but in english it would have no rhythm or coherence. It would sound off.

  • @hahailoveyew

the reason why it isnt the exact meaning is because it would sound choppy,German uses diffrent language rules than english, and it would have no rhym and not proper rythm, its alot of worl having to translate it.you can't expect it to be exactly like german if you think of it logically.

  • I LOVE THIS!!!!!

  • well I want videos of songs that don't have videoclip! and yeah augen auf is komme is best than ready or not im comming but this song open to the new public of oomph!

  • I'd never understand why som many german bans have to do a english version av their best songs ( why wont they learn from other bands that the english version wont ever beat the german ? )

  • Their not trying to beat the German version. They're doing this to expand into more countries where German is not very common and English is more common. It's a smart approach.

  • Personal i think they should write more english songs then, instead of remake a german.. I can't help it but I don't like 2 versions of the same song.. but sure its ok,

  • Yes, exactly what ODSTpro said. they want to be able to be famous in more than just Germany and the surrounding countries. They want to come play in the US and other English speaking countries, and at least Dero's careful about his translations.

  • quite wierd... i love german version and i was waiting for this song but it havent got that power like german version...

    but ist ok:)

  • i like the german better

  • I'm one of America's biggest OOMPH! fans, but, man.... I'm just not crazy about this rerelease... I was excited about the English CD, but this song just seems forced.

That being said, they have every right to redo their recent songs in English, seeing as how they went from 50/50 to 95/5 in the last 6 years. I see it as playing catch-up!

  • Yeah I agree, I don't mind most of the song...but when it gets to the "Ready or not I'm coming" part, it seems EXTREMELY forced. We'll have to see what the other songs are like.

  • they changed it , its eyes open im coming :( not ready of not im coming !!!

i think it would have sounded better if they didnt change the meaning .

i like the original version , and this song sounds so much better in german !!!

i still love oomph of course but why mess with something thats already amazing :(

  • @teetle1986 They only released it for the new album "Truth or Dare" which got English versions of the best singles.

  • @teetle

they changed it for cultural differences

  • @teetle1986

I think the best way to transelate "Augen auf" would be "Look out/watch out" or something like that

  • I'm sorry, but it seems a little weird. When he says eckstein the first time, you can tell that was from the original recording. You can tell the voices are recorded differently.

  • Actually, no. I've asked Dero personally. He re-recored the entire song, with the exception of his nephew's voice doing the counting. It's only because they're in two different languages it sounds like it's from the old recording. Being able to sing a song(or part of one) that sounds exactly like the original CD version is mostly talent, and a slight bit of audio editing. The voice recording on this track is all from one track, not spliced together with bits from the German version.

  • Love it.. Stalker, wanta be evil song... He is such a total package!..Great Job guys!!!!!
