Exactly Ilka, Poverty and Hunger are man made. Unequal living conditions between people exist everywhere not only in the so called third world. The burden is too heavy for the shoulders of almost all the people. Whatever is done will not be offered without profit, so the problem remains.

My point of view about "food banks" (German "Die Tafel") is a very critical, because this kind of system supports that people are outsourced from the participation in the daily life of a society. It accepts unequal living conditions between people.

It doesn't solve the problem on the shoulders of majority of the people also not in the so called third world. And it's getting worse if we don't stop it... we need more political action coordinated across the world.

Interessanter Tipp; man sagt, dass heute etwa 12 Md. Menschen ernährt werden könnten, und doch sterben stündlich Menschen den Hungertod. Es braucht eine gerechtere Welt statt verlogener Politikersprüche wie auf dem Millenniumsgipfel.

@dokuundso1 - Danke für dein klaren Kommentar. Yes, we could feed three times more people, than the world's population... Some countries produce abundance and throw it away, others can not afford the prices on the world market and the people suffer from hunger. This is the logic of capitalism...
