@kitchenkreek They're just a totally different style, I love both bands. Stryper uses Michael Sweets metal voice and a bunch of guitar solos while Skillet is more of a hard rock/grunge and in there earlier stuff, electro sound. They both do it to glorify God
@JoviAero I agree they are both great, the difference is that Stryper's (and Petra's) lyrics were out there in regards of delivering the message. Many of the new Christian bands the message has to be deciphered. (I hope I am understood)
I agree, a lot of the lyrics are deciphered, I'm like just say it, don't have to hide what you believe...Stryper was able to do this, they were open about their faith and gain an audience both Christian and secular.
I was surprised to find Skillet classified as metal, but I assume that they did come out of the grunge/hard rock scene. I'm supposing if you listen to their earlier sounds that Skillet is closer to the metal scene than rock. But judging by their new album they've taken a more alt rock style. But, heck, I love both bands.

@GuitariousMaximus At the time I made that comment I wasn't aware of their existence. It was only through a "Killswitch Engage" vid that I came across their name and decided to check them out, and listening to their music, I enjoyed it. But yeah August Burns Red is a Christian Metalband I missed...

It is very appropriate that a very commercial band has a song titled after what is written on money. Don't let the Christian label fool you. They were all about the Benjamins. When they thought their Christian gimmick wasn't working these girls recorded a non-Christian album.

@MnkyKng you may have done all sorts of good things! your worldview, however, has no support for even the definition of the word "good". what is good? only what God has defined. any atheist's "good" is entirely is own opinion, and law is not maintained by opinion.
as Christians, we are entirely incapable of "sending people to hell", so that claim is unfounded. and would you really say that we are the only cause of evil? Stalin was an atheist. everyone including atheists is responsible for evil.

These guys had every opportunity in front of them and chose instead God to be #1 in thier lives and share the message, it was a long road in the beginning. God has surely blessed them, 25 years and still going...and thier sound is still the same!!! Awesome talent.

@kitchenkreek They're just a totally different style, I love both bands. Stryper uses Michael Sweets metal voice and a bunch of guitar solos while Skillet is more of a hard rock/grunge and in there earlier stuff, electro sound. They both do it to glorify God

@JoviAero I agree they are both great, the difference is that Stryper's (and Petra's) lyrics were out there in regards of delivering the message. Many of the new Christian bands the message has to be deciphered. (I hope I am understood)

I agree, a lot of the lyrics are deciphered, I'm like just say it, don't have to hide what you believe...Stryper was able to do this, they were open about their faith and gain an audience both Christian and secular.

I was surprised to find Skillet classified as metal, but I assume that they did come out of the grunge/hard rock scene. I'm supposing if you listen to their earlier sounds that Skillet is closer to the metal scene than rock. But judging by their new album they've taken a more alt rock style. But, heck, I love both bands.
