if u want to go on IT emphasizes the IT go on emirates untra long haul like uk to australia 24 hour flight and u will probably go on the a380 on go to dubai or summert
YOU IDIOT! The Airbus has a wider wingspan than the 747 so they had to build special taxi ways for the A380 so it wouldn't hit other planes with its wings. Besides, the 747 is a proven money maker...
It just fits the regulations for the width of wings, precisely to avoid having to build new taxiways. The fin type things on the edge of the wings are there to shorten them without loosing lift.
To starighten this out. I've been on the Airbus website and pther osurces, and the A380 has been cleared by air safety boards internationally, that the A380 can land on any runway the 747 can land on, and can taxi on any taxiway the 747 can. They made modifications to the gear so the taxiway did not crumble under it's weight. It does have special needs in some cases, but the airports that accept the A380 don't need any new structures, just some small additions that can make it easier.
@FallenFear223 AN 225 is bigger than the a380 with 6 engines. the largest aircraft in the world. actually a380 makes more money but the the 747 is more sold plane there is so many that every hour at least 3 take off in the world.
Wrong. It can take off from most major airports. And since they are not going to land on small airports anyway, what's the point?
Hm, so all those over 200 orders of the A380 must have lost their mind then, when they bought an airplane which makes it cheaper to transport a lot of people, you see fuel for airplanes is getting more and more expensive.
Things change. If you don't, you go extinct like the dinosaur.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Oh please, the a380 is far from a success. They need 450 orders to break even. Hmm, at this rate it will be 2050 before that happens.
Oh did I mention the most successful pre-sold airplane now has 910 orders? Ohhh, it's not the Airbus either. Ohh poor little Airbus lover zedextremeDICK has another bad break.
I guess the airlines don't give a shit if it does have a 2 year delay. SUX to be AIrTraSH!
Before anyone says that the A380 is ugly, check out the designs of the Boeing NLA or the Mcdonnell Douglas MD-12. Their designs are even more uglier.
I'm not saying the American planes suck, I like both Airbus and Boeing equally. I'm just saying this to counteract those who say that the A380 is ugly.
They've been keeping the wheels out for weeks, especially during airshows, since the full mechanism was still under test and they just didn't want to take the risk of a belly landing ;-)
who gives a crap boieing 747 is still faster and highter , range of 0.89 m thats like nearly the sound barrier does any of you guys please know the name of the music this is soo aswem dudes
ya the music is called "he's a pirate"- u can find it on you tube- i disagree (politly) that the airbus is WAY better than boeing- not just because my cousin was one of the lead engineers for the aircraft, but of all the neat possibilities it has helped open up.
the A380 could accommodate as many as 840 passengers. The more likely three-class configuration will still offer an unprecedented 555 passenger seats. Either way, the A380 would offer 30% - 50% more seating than its direct competition, the Boeing 747-400. Due to recent technological advances, Airbus claims the A380 will be a more efficient plane than its rival, the 747. Airbus states the A380 will use 20% less fuel and will fly quieter, cheaper and more environmentally friendly than the 747.
Bad news for AIrTRASH!! HA HA HA!! Too bad mother fuckers!!
DUBAI-BASED airline Emirates is unhappy with its first four giant Airbus A380 aircraft, which showed manufacturing faults that forced flights to be cancelled, a report said on Saturday.
The German weekly Der Spiegel, in its issue to be published on Monday, said Emirates in February gave Airbus officials a 46-page report listing its complaints, including burned electric cables, missing cabin fittings and engine defects.
Whit-direrra- Your full of shit bro.. the a380 will not be profitable until they sell 500 copies.. at the rate these dicks are going, that could take 30 more years.

Dude, look at straight up economics.. this plane is a colossal disaster to the entire EU.. it's going to take 450 planes sale to break even, at the rate AirSMASH is selling them it will take 10 years to climb out of the hole..
Lets face it, Boeing beat Airbus to the punch years ago.. The Dreamline might be a bit delayed, but it hasn't hurt sales one bit.. and Airtrash won't have a competive product for 12-15 years? AirTRASH is DOOMED!
I think that Boeing is headed in the right derection with the 787 because no matter how you look at it, it will take more fuel to lift that thing off the gruond than to lift the 787 off the ground, so why would you just keep making them bigger and bigger, but it does look cool. The worst part is that they think that it will increase airport capacity but its not the airplanes that need changing, the airports are just too small, see my point, but it still looks cool.
Thats the problem, ariports can't handle the 747 much less the a380. Airports everywhere are trying to keep up with the constantly increasing passenger volume. I personality think the 787 wasn't a great idea eather, it takes up two gates. I think their both too big.
u realise the 787 is a completely different beast all 2gether and its not in direct copetition with the a380, the A350 is in direct competition with the B787.
it was said that the 747 series was a waste of time and money when it 1st came 2 light and that only Pan-Am would buy around 10 of them.
What a mistake that was, theres 100s of them now.
Like the IBM CEO 'Thomas Watson' back in 1943 "There will only be a global market for maybe 5 computers" lets not throw the a380 in the gutter yet
How about faster speed like 3 hours instead of 17 hours? You know, passenger plane that flys out to space at 3000 miles per hour instead of flying through the friction of air.
You do know that if Airbus makes better designs the airplane agencies will pick them over Boeing. I agree that it looks like a bird, but Boeing's design looks more like a plane than it should like a bird.
The Airbus A320 family is the first to fully feature the glass cockpit and digital fly-by-wire flight control system in a civil airliner.
Bernard Ziegler is the former Airbus senior vice president for engineering. He is well known for his evangelical zeal for the application of the fly-by-wire system in the Airbuses. He is the son of the former Airbus CEO, Henri Ziegler.
It's a 747 double Decker, what's the big deal. That says to me low ceiling height and claustrophobic. Don't like this plane, gas guzzler, plane never sell out all seats, probably 1/2 empty most of the time. I give this plane 6 years and it will be discontinued. Airbus will never recover from this decision.
It will be one of the most successfull planes ever, transporting safely millions of passengers between ever growing big cities around the globe. It is the result of decades of research and innovation. Long life to this marvel.
There all the same inside. You have been on one, you have been on them all. Just more seats.

chrisdkpl 4 years ago
i agree. the world doesn't need something that big, at least not YET. skies above are becoming increasingly congested too.

why dont they just paint a nice big target on the side. make it easier for terrorists to kill more people.

I like Airbus and Boeing.
I like Airbus because there small and cute desgins,Saftey, comfort and winglets!
and I like Boeing because They have Nice Winglets,Have been with Aviation since the first years and comfort,But there saftey hasnt been so good.

the wings are like arches exept way less bent
pyromaniac1014 4 years ago
I don't like how the wings are designed. Boeing beats that and also the a380 looks like another version of boeing 737.
arviagent13 4 years ago
dude what the crap are u talkin bout
jesusrulesflight 4 years ago
No offense dude...I am just opinionated more towards Boeing because Airbus will soon put it out of business.
arviagent13 4 years ago
Dude, I'm a Boeing fan, and I still have no idea what you're talking about...
Even so, the A380 is a beautiful bird.
davetek490 4 years ago
You do know that if Airbus makes better designs the airplane agencies will pick them over Boeing. I agree that it looks like a bird, but Boeing's design looks more like a plane than it should like a bird.

what
childofangels 4 years ago
For the guy with the concorde's the best - most of the designers of the A380 were eauropean exactly like that of the harrier and the concorde.

Let`s say i wanted to put this video on to my ipod video, is there way`s to transfer it from youtube to my ipod?
nicolaswestgtte 4 years ago
The Concorde is still the best .
Though it lacks comfort .
But should be ok since its supersonic speed will take u anywhere at Four times the speed of A380

Look at that thing! It's a beast of the air. Just can't wait to get a chance to fly on it from Sydney to Singapore. Keeping my fingers crossed.

AIRBUS RULES! RUSSIAN PEOPLE LOVE AIRBUS A380! Matter-of-fact, they already sign an order for this beast! respect

Airbus will never recover from this decision.
nomore5speed 4 years ago
It will be one of the most successfull planes ever, transporting safely millions of passengers between ever growing big cities around the globe. It is the result of decades of research and innovation. Long life to this marvel.
