I take issue with that str8carter who wrote 3 months ago. Lupe, my relation, was NOT a hard-drinking artist and did NOt fuck around. Gary Cooper and she were madly in love with each other. They did not marry only because he was a Momma's boy and her mom did not approve of Lupe ONLY because she was Mexican. She WAS indeed a great actress and her untimely death was a big blow to the movie industry. Better have your facts straight before you dare libel such a great artist. Shame on you.
Miranda's inspiration was Lupe, who was the hardest drinking and fucking broad of her era. That hot pussy attracted the most eligible man in the USA....TARZAN! But the same things that attracted Johnny to her also destoyed the marraige....the drinking and fucking around.
@str8carter honey, u must be a fucking retard bitch. Please turn off ur tv. read more and go around the world-i doubt u can- read, read and read! use ur brain as something u can use not as the thing u alway used it. Agree? have a nice non sense life! or if u have one just wondering....
@69bleu Sorry to bust your bubble about Lupe, but I read a biography on Johnny Wiesmueller (Tarzan). She was his 1st wife. According to the book he could not keep up with her partying and it led to their split. Of course the author of the book may have just made all that shit up, huh?
She was a hard drinking, hard fucking Hot Tamale. I think she munched a few carpets, too!
Lupe Velez was a great actress. This is a great video, paying tribute to a great star. Its too bad the studios didn't handle her career much better. Also I have her as my back ground on my monitor. And she looks like and reminds of my late wife Josie.
Thank you for your comment! I agree, the studio did not handle her career very well, she could have been a bigger star, she sure had the talent, and your wife Josie must have been very beautiful,GOD BLESS!

Strangely, you'll find her name's last lover as Harald Maresch everywhere on the internet though in all articles of the time and Hollywood articles, this man was credited as Harald Ramond or Raymond since he falsely said he was french though he was austrian.
he did because after WWI, many german and austrian actresses and actors refused to reveal their real background so pretending to be french was very fashionable and opened doors more easily. Silent stars Jetta Goudal and Renée Adorée did the same.
@kabukinami: Bueno está Salma Hayek. México siempre ha tenido grandes Divas. Como Dolores del Río, Lupe Vélez, Katy Jurado, Miroslava Sternova, María Félix, etc etc!
Rest in peace Lupe. She was such a beautiful and passionate woman. It's sad that she died so tragically. Really nice tribute and I love the music used! : )
Wow! What a beautiful and exotic woman Lupe Velez was! Great tribute!
