@rmnhn I'll give you Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, but Pinkie? Not even close. I don't see many people placing Pinkie or the other four as high as Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. You'll see a lot of Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash icons, shirts, memes etc. Rainbow Dash has basically become the unofficial mascot for the show. Pinkie's not even close to them as far as being overrated is concerned. You don't see a bunch of fanboys raging when you say she isn't cute (Fluttershy fanboys)

Maybe not as much in terms of merch and promos, but I'd have to say Pinkie's just as (or even more) overrated in regards to memes. Her songs, her lines, her antics, Equestria Girls, CUPCAKES!, her fourth wall destroying shenanigans... She is basically the Deadpool of FiM. Sure her praise and fan following isn't as annoying as Dash's and Fluttershy's, but from how I view it, she's overrated regardless. Of course I might be the only one who thinks this, so take this with a grain of salt.

@rmnhn That's not really "overrated", that's more like "overused". Hasbro tends to use her a lot more than the others simply because her hyperactive attitude and personality mostly appeals to the kids. Also, a lot of bronies have looked down on her appearance in Cupcakes, and all of the memes that have spawned from it. I don't really see how her "lines" make her overrated, even if they do become memes. The others characters have had the same thing happen (hi girls, yay, 20% cooler, etc.)

This is my theory.
