Great again Smitty--I think bands are way under utilized by some--in your current hand position of gripping the red band--you could try externally rotating your fists so that your palm position would face each other during this movement--it really helps reinforce the external rotators to maximally recruit
@52hands that is a great question. The reason I do it bent over is to lock my hips in neutral. Many times with pressing exercises, to compensate for a tight upper back, lifter's lower back over arches (hyper-lordosis). This bent over position helps put the hips and spinal erectors on tension to help "set" the lower back. Thanks for the question!

Why do it bent over? You have no resistance from gravity anyway.
