It shows why HS1 was so expensive - and late - compared to LGV - the tunnels. The UK always seems to find the most complicated and expensive way of doing things (Wembley stadium, Crossrail, HS2 etc...etc..)
That first part of the trip is not from Paris-Nord, but from Brussel-Zuid (Midi). The flyover at the start of the video carries the Eurostar/Thalys/TGV line (96N) over the other tracks, and the line continues to Halle, where it then becomes High Speed Line "L1". It runs to Lille, then ends just before Lille-Europe TGV.
This video should be marked as a risk to people with epilepsy as the way the timelapse runs makes it appear to flash and that puts people like me at risk of a seizure. But good attempt at a video.
I'm a Yank and I made the Brussels to St. Pancras trip one time. Is there a long tunnel just before you pull into St. Pancras? I was trying to figure it out while watching the video. Tks. Great video!!
@ccolimon The long tunnel before St Pancras is beneath London. There is a station around 2:14 called Stratford International: station for the 2012 Olympics.

When this was filmed, did the train actually go nonstop? Doesn't it stop at Lille, Calais, Ashford, and Ebbsfleet?

@Cookienalah They don't, trains drive on the left in France and Belgium, so no need to swap sides.
