Sorry to contradict you, but the Rhodes playing (as well as arrangement) is pure Cedar Walton, with very Billy Higgins-like drum playing from Farnsworth. You have to give credit to the right people. This aside, it´s a great group and a well-played arrangement
Ten years later this Dave Hazeltine arrangement still sounds hip. But it sounds better fully voiced on the original version - One For All's 1998 date on Sharp Nine, "Optimism."
Man I dig this cat on Rhodes. His ideas are hip. This whole thing sounds great!

Very hip arrangement of a great tune - the best jazz adaptation of it I've ever heard. Rotondi and Hazeltime are really something else. Huge talent.

Very artistically played. Probably the best version of this song on youtube. Very "Herbie Hancock" Rhodes playing.
Is there sheet music for this? I would love to try this on tenor sax.
