This was the show where she had lost her voice! They had performed at The Blank Club in San Jose, then had to go down to Southern Cali. THEN back up to DNA for this show! PS: I'm one of the ones getting to shout "In my black and white dress/In my black and red dress" ;)

actually now that i listen to it again Chibi may have had a backing track for her vocals since she was losing her voice before this show.

interesting. The first time i saw them in NYC i actually got to listen in on her warming up before the show- maybe for sound check- she sounded pretty good. then time for the show, i was appalled by her voice(though god knows i fucking love their music) any way i was disappointed, but adjusted and had a great time. Second time i saw them SHe sounded great! my guess is sometimes she gets nervous...I know she tries. As for the back up recording - probably.

they use backing tracks for synths, soundFX, percussion elements and voice overdubs

they might be using drum triggers, cause the snare sounds so much like the recording.

*a trigger is this little electronic clamp used on a snare or bass drum to trigger another sound so you can replace the real sound with an electronic one*
