Even though under this new SCHIP bill adults and illegals are covered thanks to a clever rewording of this bill on who's considered an adult or poor. Child up to 30 years old and Poor under $100,000.

The other part of the cigar tax bill is switching exsisting money from seniors heal care and labeling it for children. I work in health care - children rarely get sick, but seniors use medical services alot. Why penalize seniors on fixed income? Truth is, the bill as it is stated, would pay for health care for "children" whose family makes 4 times over the exsisting poverty level. Think twice before you vote for someone who wants to cut benifits to our seniors.
i am not a smoker but do understand that this tax is draconian in nature.

I agree with you 100% it's very hard to collect taxes from an industry that is no longer in existence (ironically, from the taxes imposed on them)
