  • An incredible movie! Outstanding! I cannot stop watching it!

My wife comes from Chengdu..I have been there.

    "Once you´ve been there.."

    My heart is in Chengdu!

    Thanks from my heart!

  • miss home again...

  • Fuck, the last time I went back to china there was garbage everywhere on the streets, smoggy air couldn't even breathe, and rude ppl everywhere. The place is a dump!

  • 现在感觉成都挺好的~ 哇咔咔

  • I never even been to Chengdu and I feel nostalgic watching some vids of it...

  • miss home!

  • My once home

  • @preetamrai I am dreaming of going back

  • Being as you're from Canada have you ever been to some American cities? Chinese cities can be pretty filthy but American cities can be pretty awful too.

  • A beautiful video, but it definitely made the city look a lot more beautiful than it is XD

When I went, it was usually cloudy and rainy, and I usually felt too sweaty and sticky to enjoy things as lively as the people who were filmed. I also wished the places and the people were a little cleaner. (The streets and bathrooms in smaller areas are gross)

My visit was fun, but personally, I couldn't wait to come back to Canada.

  • Chengdu is such a wonderful place. It has such a unique rhythm. It is wonderful to watch the city come to life each day. The people are amazing and of course the Chegdu girls are beautiful :-)

  • Wow, now I really want to go there and see for myself.

  • Chengdu is a great spot - food and people wise. If it weren't that the weather was so bad I'd still be living there. :)

  • haha, you know some people stay exactly because of the weather they consider as perfect: never too hot and never too cold. Well, I guess you may come from a better place, I wonder where though.

  • i went chengd for school trip and itts amazing i advise all to go there

  • i miss my HOMETOWN!!!T0T

  • I love this video!!!Chengdu looks really pretty in it. I am going back China on May 25th. I will travel in Beijing for 5 days and go back Chengdu on the 31th. I really cannot wait to go back!!! Although I am not a Chengdu citizen. But I have studied for 6 years from 12 to 18. A lot of good memories were made there. Love Chengdu. Love Sichuan. Love China!

  • I spent a week in Chengdu in 2007 when me and my wife adopted our daughter, fu quo. I loved it there and the people were great. If you have problems with the government, take them up with the government, not the people. The people in the United States could learn alot from the people of China. Things like pride humility, honor, tradition. We are osing ouselves over here and we need to chanege soon. Enough ranting, thanks for the video. Chengdu is awesome. Especially the Pandas.

  • ...travelled in china for 3 months in 1997. Chengdu is the only place still really stuck in my mind :)

  • I will be in Chengdu feb 25th!!!! can't wait!

  • so beautiful a city it is !!!!!

  • Welcome come to Chengdu!

  • Chengdu is such a city that you wanna stay forever noce you have been.

    The point.

  • I'm a Canadian living in Hebei province near Beijing. My visit to Chengdu was magical. A truly riveting place, and close to many other exceptional locations. I think when my contract is up I will be moving there.

  • Great to hear that! I'm a Canadian living in Chengdu and it's GREAT! You'll never want to leave. Watchsome of my" Chengdu Streetz "vids b4 u go thou!

  • Well i'm canadian too, and i'm very friendly and welcoming yet strangely.....too much

  • hey im a chinese canadian who moved to vancouver but I was born in Chengdu! I cant way to get back there!

  • @Psytric2008 hi my friend, where r u now ? have u moved to Chengdu city ? I have gone to Singapore for several years, really miss my city, wish to come back soon.

  • The english translation really needs revising...

  • I love Chengdu, hometown forever!

  • the best city ever!!

  • What a great movie! nice

  • it looks wonderful!!

  • yes,I live in chengdu,it's really a city worth to go

  • My parents live in Chengdu, and the restaurant in this video sucks! They must have paid Mr. Zhang to get in the show!

  • idiot, shut your asshole!

  • hah there are more better restaurants for u to enjoy man`~

  • There are a lot but WeiDaoJiangHu is not good at all. You should trust local people.

  • YiPienTianQia is the best. I'm local BTW

  • good stuff!!!i really love this video and miss chengdu.miss hotpot!!!there are some sichuan food restaurants in berlin, but jesus,i have to say, they are not very good.the hotpot in berlin, terrible!!!

  • This is remind me when I was in Shanghai in Dec/06. I enjoyed my trip so much...Wish I can go back there soon.

  • Thank you fo telling me more things.. I never had doubts about this place and china in general, its such a beautiful place, I love the culture. If everything turns out fine I will be going on July, I am very sorry about the earthquake by the way..best wishes.

  • This is my hometown. It should be so peaceful and beautiful. Yet now it is full of sorrow and despair.

I cannot stop crying when I watch this video.

I remember every single thing the author mentioned in this video yet I dare not try to imagine what it is like now.

    This is so heartbreaking...

  • I wasn't familiar with Chengdu until the news brought it to the spotlight today. Lets hope for the best and a quick recovery.

  • Earthquake just happened near Chengdu. Bad news.

  • You made me homesick...

  • I believe I am going to perfomr a student exchange there..I want to go there soo badly..can anyone tell me more thingsabout this place, the people, the culture in general?..I wouild really appreciate it..

  • Cheugdu is very famous for the friendliness and openess of the people. For some time it used to be an ancient capital. Chengdu probably has one of the best balances between the old and the new. Its also very famous for the teahouses and the relaxing attitude people have there.

Hong Kong is probably more adaptable to Westerners, its a gateway to China. But Chengdu is much more rich in cultural heritage.

  • by the way ,i love Chongqing, too.thats because im a Chinese.

please remember:Any army divided against itself cannot have fighting force.

    faction is stupid!

  • r u stupid or something? have u ever been to China? if not plz shut your fuck up``` do u know if the tibet departed from China ``how many tibet people will be starve to death? do u know why the Dalailama want to separate the Tibet```have u ever read the Chinese history?? if not ```PLZ shut your fuck up```` idiot

  • Is it a Chinese history book published by Americans? How can you criticize my country when you know nothing true about it?

    IDIOT

  • RRReally a GOOD place!I promise

  • Forgot to mention: this is a great video! It really demonstrated the history, culture, and humanity of Chengdu. Proud to be a Chengdu Ren!

  • Thank you for the video. Me and my wife adopted our little girl in Chengdu. A very beautiful city and very friendly people. Loved the panda's too.

  • 我爱成都.

  • Has anyone read Dai Sije's Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstrees?

  • ng, i saw the movie, also directed by dai sijie. it was really good.

  • 成都人路过

  • it's besutiful!

  • gaysking, 国人就喜欢窝里斗。什么时候到纽约请你吃大四川。四川人就应该有大四川的情怀。当

    然我要说明我是成都人。但我从不仇视重庆人。我从来都觉得重庆人泼辣可爱。

  • gaysking, since you had an English version of your comment, I guess I might as well include mine: some Chinese love infighting. I would love to invite you to dine at a Grand Sichuan Restaurant (there are several of them) when you come to visit New York City. A Sichuanese should have a mind encompassing the whole and grand Sichuan. I admit that I am from Chengdu. But I have never been hostile to Chongqing. I have always thought Chongqingnese as lovely people.

  • dont worry about him man. he s one of the few, who are just always cynical.

  • you r narrow minded

You are right that hotpot originates in Chongqing, but everybody can enjoy it! Do not be so NARROW-MINDED!

  • 偶不是四川人,不过一直觉得四川话特好听

  • Sichuan Food is the Best!

    我是成都人哈

  • Welcome to Chengdu!

  • ya, the streets are dirtier than the vid seems. but overall it's a good place in China. Though its really humid there during the summer, Chengdu rarely gets flood or serious natural disasters. The panda center is also located there, and the enviroment around that area is awsome....

Chengdu is my hometown...love it there...

  • oh my goodness..

    i couldn't love chengdu more..

it's gorgeous and the coolest of the cool!

proud of being a native of chengdu~

  • really professional!

  • I'm just back from a month in Chengdu and although it was nice, it was far dirtier than in the video, good video though.

  • I love Cheng Du!

  • 我爱成都,我爱中国!

    I love Chengdu,I love China!

  • chengdu is my hometown, i love it: yamming food, panda and relax life.. but life here is too relax I want to make money in bigger cities after my graduation and then come back to enjoy my later life.

  • 太矫情

  • It's really what it is

  • I have been to Chengdu China many times, and each time I did not want to return from there: delicious food, beautiful antique buildings, spectacular city life and poetic countryside views... it it my parents' home town.

  • I have been to Chengdu. It is as beautiful as this video shows. I cannot wait to return.

  • Chengdu looks so pretty in this video. I never realized what a awesome city I lived in ... after I moved to American. Five years and never got a chance to go back ... everything seems so familiar yet so strange -- Chengdu, a great city and lovely homeland!

  • I love chengdu...but nice video editing. Never seen chengdu so green before rofl.

  • That was a very nice beautiful experience! I plan to live in Chendgo while teaching Enlgish. Watching this modivates me to see Chendgu sooner! xie xie!

  • Very nice display of a very interesting place. I hope to visit someday. Your video has really pushed me to speed up my plans. Hope you produce more of the same

    thanks

    Yingwu of Vancouver (John)

  • beautifullly made video

  • ok~welcome to chengdu

  • I missed my hometown. I'll go back to Chengdu to find a beautiful GF, hopefully on Chunxilu, haha.

  • i have the same thinking as you. so i came back to this beautiful city after nine years living in Europe.

  • Ya!!! Chengdu rocks!!! XD

  • What a nostalgic video...good I'll be there soon for a visit.

  • My forever love--Chengdu

  • prettty video. ;)

  • Chengdu is my city....I love her!!

  • So am I, I was born in Chengdu too and moved to the states when I was 7 but sadly I havent been back since I left 12 years ago. It seems logically, Chengdu has moved on without me, my Chengdu is forever a memory.

  • wow man..i came to the states when i was 9 its been 13 years for me damn..i miss alot..gonna try to go back this summer

  • cool i'm from there

  • Great video! My grandpa as an railway engenieer had visitied most of the cities while he was following the railway constraction across China. He choose chengdu to build the family root at last.We all thank him for this great choice. Chengdu is a fantastic place, my dream hometown!

  • ChengDu is a nice city.

    My boyfriend comes from ChengDu.

I love the chafing dish.It tastes hot!

  • When his grandma was young, she probably was starving during the famines. If her family was rich enough to own a house like that, her family would've been sent down to the countryside during the cultural revolution. Nice piece of propaganda though.

  • Dude, not the cultural revolution. That was what? 40 years ago? 60 years ago the British were forcing opium on Zhang's great-grandpa probably. Wtf kind of logic are you displaying?

  • chengdu is nice, I want to go there.

  • Haha, thanks for the video! I miss it a lot!

  • Ni hao. My family and I visited Chengdu for a week this spring. I recognized many of the spots, but wish I been to some of the other places you filmed that i missed. Beautiful vid. Xie xie.
