I was wondering the same thing. The way it looks it's almost as if he is resting his arm on Teller's head. I doubt that's what it is though. Course as a short person in general surrounded by taller people, it makes sense that is what I would automatically think of.

Anyone else have an idea?

I read that the reason he doesn't talk is because being a stage magician people who are loud at the show or would heckle would start to shut up and pay attention because Teller wasn't talking. He was doing, but not talking. I think that's why he doesn't talk. And also when you have someone as articulate as Penn Jillette standing next you and you both think the same way, that's helpful.

I'm a huge fan, but "teaching people how to think" seems a bit odd.

The most crucial methods of thinking are not naturally known right away. It is necessary to fine-tune the mind, much like any electronic device, to do the job better. Essentially, It's a lot like giving a modern day engineer an old car, and watching him re-tune the engine to make it run better, faster, stronger.

I agree that it sounds odd but it might be that some people dont know how to think critically or logically, or dont know how to evaluate information and how not be blue eyed and believe anything other people say. For example Carl Sagan - Baloney Detection Kit can be useful to know. Please You tube it and see what He means. Me I never learned this in school for example but I would have loved to know how to think like a critique since there is alot of bullshit out there. Best wishes and love.
