These coaches are rather like the Irish Enterprise stock I think, the difference being that the Eurostar has articulated bogies. I travelled to Brussels on the Eurostar, it might have changed now but I though the interior was more spartan than the Mk3s/Mk4s
.......And of course the birth of the Inter City 125 VALENTA Not the bag of crap engines they have these days grumble grumble not like it was in my day etc!! :-))))
I have been onboard the eurostar GNER from peterborough to Doncaster and it had a landline type phone box onboard! So of cause I just had to use it to ring someone up!
It's a pity the Eurostar 373 trains were restricted to 110mph due to the issues with the pantograph potentially taking the over head cables down at the normal UK Mainline speed of 125mph.
@EWS60008 When I lived in grantham (1970-1983) it was Deltics/47s on the Main Line and a wonderfull collection of locos on frieght any thing from class 20s thhrough to class 56s. Metro cammel dmus on the Nottingham and Skegness branchs and a very long class 47 hauled train callled The European that ran from Harwich to Derby (I think) and return. FANTASTIC!!!!!
As far as I know, once the Class 91 / Mk.IV refurbishment was completed, GNER no longer needed to hire extra stock, and the 373s were returned to Eurostar.
Simply because many people (especially those who are not rail enthusiasts) know them as Eurostars, in the same way some people would not be certain what a pair of Class 43s and rake of Mk.3 coaches might be.

Cazkumali 1 year ago
@FirstClassFootage but the class 373s were VASTLY superior to the class 91s.
