Randy's influence was perhaps the only thing that kept Ozzy alive and well. Randy Rhoads was, no pun intended, instrumental (seriously, no pun intended) for helping Ozzy Osbourne make his comeback. If he didn't end up as the guitar player for Ozzy, he wouldn't have been successful. Randy influenced two of Ozzy's other greatest guitar players, Jake E. Lee and Zakk Wylde.

The same goes for Jimi Hendrix unfortunately Cl00z. He lived to the age of 27 while Randy only lived to the age of 25. They both died as guitar-playing legends, who could have or would have gone the extra marathon (not just mile my friend) in their careers.

His style was innovative. And his music had alot of depth.

I think this is what separates his music from alot of other great players. They don't have the depth that randy had.

ie. van halen didn't progress beyond his tapping solo style. He tried to do other stuff...Hendrix on the other hand had tons of depth that went way beyond the spectrum...

Nice point about Van Halen. Anyways, Jimi did so much and did a variety of styles. Randy didn't do as many styles, but his was unique. It was so lively, combining classical with metal to make his one-of-a-kind playing style. What I think is the best about them is although they lived short lives, their influence carried on for generations.
