  • How much do the trucks weigh in the states? I passed a few checks when I drove from New York to Scranton, but are curious about the weight limit will apply. How long can the trucks be? Here in Sweden, 62ton and 24meter (25,25 meters under certain conditions). I also had the pleasure to test a Kenworth when I was on a visit to Clark Summit, really fun to try and compare with our Swedish brands ...

  • @dennholm some up to 80,000 pounds and pulling up to 53 foot trailers

  • It's interesting how all the trucks on the other side of the pond never have stacks is that just a styling thing or a regulation and they only seem to have one drive axle and a drop axle and all the trailers seem to have three axles with just 2 wheels on them not duels why is that? I love the fact that they are all cabovers though they don't even make those anymore here in the states : (

  • We have many combinations of trucks i Europe. What is normally shown in the videos is the "Continental" semi. In my country this type of truck is not that common.

  • Some trucks do have stacks, its just that most European trucks are owned by large companies who just buy basic model trucks with no add ons. owner drivers who customise their trucks are a vanishing breed these days.

Verical exhausts remain popular on tipper lorries however, which prevents dust being blown up in quarries etc.

I had a scania years ago with a straight through stack, they sound awesome

  • They are cabovers due to the stringent length restrictions in Europe, you couldnt couple a standard US conventional to a full length trailer without contravening the law.

double drive tractors are rare, you can run at the same gross weight with a single drive and mid-lift steer axle, its lighter and less tyre wear. when running empty just raise the axle.

trailers have super singles, it reduces tyre scrub, is easier/cheaper to change wheels, less likely to overheat and save weight and fuel.

  • GEILER SCANIA
