@hezamoray been a while since I read the comics, but it has to do with his destiny. He has to keep the wall wet with blood or the monster will get out. The monster being the thing with the tentacles in this video. He's the guardian of the doorway. I goes into more depth than that, but like I said it's been a while. I think the devil explains it at some point in the comics.

Yeah, he's an asshole named Krik that Johnny kidnapped for pushing him around with his friends when he was drunk. Johnny kidnapped him, locked him in a room in his basement, and made him eat shit every time he talked, then took a chunk of his brain out of the back of his head, which drove him near crazy. That girl he was with was named Tess, who was there because her boyfriend was an asshole. She's the only one who survives. Krik is also one of the only main characters who's black besides Tenna.
