I came dingess the first time 1968 drove anew car through the tunell met abeatiful woman from dingess .it was love atfirst sight almost married her thoughts of her cross my mind almost every day i loved her and i loved dingess and all of the beautiful mountains i live in so ill but my mind often goes to dingess and a lady named opal

I use to haul coal in a 18 wheer through that tunnel when I worked for Stowers Trucking, hauled the coal to Kentucky.

Gotta love the good ol tunnel but who ever made this video was drivin kinda fast if you do speed limit it feels like you will never get to the other side....it is almost exactly a mile long.

i drive coal truck thru this tunnel every night .. you think its bad in a car try it in a truck expecially with cars leaving there head lites on... we try to be considerate of you guys so please please if you see us coming please turn off your head lites and we will give you the same respect ... and if you see a big white kenworth at nite... thats me and say howdy lol u guys remember to be safe out there and check out some of my vids lol all 3 of them lmao

I love going throught the tunnel as long as the vehicle has good headlights lol but somehting I did notice was no meeting of a coal truck, must be 1 in a 100 times you dont see one or pass one.

HAHAHA This is great! All us George Rubens kids went through the tunnel one day and screamed the entire length through. Then we went on up the holler to throw some mud. It was a great day!

Wow! The Dingess Tunnel! Must be listening to a CD coz Coal Country don't come in very well in the tunnel :-) I was always wondering if you met someone in the tunnel, can two cars pass? Lots of History there.

Once upon a time, my father and I were driving a brand new Dodge Ram through the tunnel and the truck broke down almost right in the middle of the tunnel. It seemed like by the time we finally coasted out of the tunnel there were probably twenty people pushing the vehicle- as I stood in the seat and steered.

The first time I ever drove on a state road was in the Dingess Tunnel!
