I just saw this movie a few minutes ago... can't believe I didn't see it back in the 90's.. I've always been a big batman fan and the animated movie was just amazing.. and at the beginning when this theme hit... I felt like a kid again and I had goosebumps all over ... TRULY LEGENDARY!

Batman and Spawn are two different heroes born of tragic consequence. Being a soldier in his former life, Spawn has no qualms for taking life while Batman has sworn to never take a life in memory of his parents. Batman has no powers to rely on and has built his body to peak human condition whereas Spawn sometimes relies too much on his magic hellfire to get things done. Both are cool in their own way and dish out justice in their own manner. I guess Spawn is like a more violent Wayne in a way.

I've got to disagree, because at heart... Batman is a pragmatist. He has his principles, but will break them without a second thought if he feels the situation requires it. Examples include his hatred of guns, Batman does use guns in order to understand them. (Dick Grayson is a crackshot because of Bruce teaching him) and the best example is Final Crisis #6 where Batman chooses to make an exception in both using guns and not killing. (He brings out a gun to kill Darkseid with.)
