You see when it says one excels over the other, its refering to the fact that men are more readily built for work and toil than woman are, so they have the responsibility to act as guardians and providers. If a man stands by this obligation and a woman is still rebellious (treats him like dirt basically) then there are three steps to be taken as shown.
Admonish, stay apart and beat, these three things are not meant to be done simultaneously.
1)Firstly, admonish means "exhort", and exhort means "urge or advise earnestly", so basically just talk it out.
2)If things are still bad, give each other some space, which is the whole stay apart thing.
3)The absolute last resort if things aren't getting any better is corporal punishment, but the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him, our real role model) always spoke against this kind of action.

I used to work in Saudi for Schlumberger. What I found disgusting was the hypocrisy. I was forced to witness two beheadings, one of a man caught with alcohol, the other of a man caught with a woman. Both of the men were foreign laborers & Muslim.
The following weekend I saw the man who had ordered the beheadings in Dubai, with a drink in one hand, a whore on the other.
My experiences with the average Muslim have been good (two of my roommates in Houston were Muslim). And I had no problems with the third world laborers.

I live in the UK, although we were just as bad when we agreed with the whole attack in the first place. I recall Bush calling the attack on Iraq a "Crusade" at one point, seems a little suspect to me, lol! Even so, my point is you don't have to be religious to be a terrorist, there are bad people out there regardless of religion, that doesn't mean that religion preaches bad things. 4:11 (not 12), this refers to the inheritance of children from their parents. Men have a larger financial responsibility than woman. In Islam men are the designated bread winners, they are obligated to spend money feeding and taking care of their families and wives, so they get a larger share. Woman are excused of this so they get less, but that doesn't mean they can't work or earn their own money, which is strictly their's to spend as they see fit, on their famliy, themselves, whateva.

1)Firstly, admonish means "exhort", and exhort means "urge or advise earnestly", so basically just talk it out.
2)If things are still bad, give each other some space, which is the whole stay apart thing.
3)The absolute last resort if things aren't getting any better is corporal punishment, but the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him, our real role model) always spoke against this kind of action.

There are things wrong with countries, but not with people. Even the USA has its issues. Gay marriage may be an issue these days, but a few decades ago the US government was trying to pass a law against interracial marriage. Governments are oppressive, including those in the middle east. They don't practice Islam, but instead enforce what helps them, and ignore the rest of the religion.

You need to know and understand what Al Qaida is. The explosions in muslim are in no way related to Al Qaida. Bin Laden has in many of his speeches advised the shiits and sunnis in Iraq to stop fighting and killing each other. The only times that Al Qaida it selve may have bombed in a muslim country would be if the government was allied to america, and if so he would only have bombed a governmental house not a civilian.

The best thing peaceful Muslims can do to improve their image is to fix it from within, and quit blaming everyone else, conspiracy theories, etc, etc, for the terrorist acts that are committed. You do that, and we'll do our part by correcting our penchant for generalizations.

Empower and encourage the 99.99% non radicals, instead of alienating and marginalizing them. This way, there is less propagnada to be used by radicals to begin with, and more normal muslims that arent scared to step out into the limelight and fight against radicals.

Who are the radicals terrorizing? Think about it. Is it non muslims that are dying or the muslims who aren't joining their radical cults.
If parts of america continues to stereotype and marginalize muslims, why would we want to step out and be attacked from both nonmuslims and radical muslims?? we are the minority here, not supported by anybody. I just listened to christian radio yesterday, and I was so sickened by the language used.

You should step up because muslims, until granted citizenship, are guests in their respective host countries. It is not up to anybody else to support you until you have proven that you are worthy of our support. Many native westerners feel very distrustful because of what we perceive as tacit support for extremists by way of inaction. You may be afraid to speak out, but in failing to do so, you risk it all.

thanks brother. the problem is that we are so quick to punish rather than understand and fix the roots of the problems. if you listen to the messages of terrorists, most of their problems lie in the foreign policy of the US. hence its death to america and israel rather than "death to the west". throw in oppressive governments (that are all about power and greed) and poor economic conditions, its easy to see how problematic it will be.

"do not mix religion and politics." one side fights in a geopolitical struggle while the other side bases all of their political aspirations on religious teaching and justifications. peaceful interpretation of the koran is still attainable, but as long as muslims perceived enemy is zionism/democracy/the west, then freedom will not b able 2 prevail.

I used to work in Saudi for Schlumberger. What I found disgusting was the hypocrisy. I was forced to witness two beheadings, one of a man caught with alcohol, the other of a man caught with a woman. Both of the men were foreign laborers & Muslim.

The following weekend I saw the man who had ordered the beheadings in Dubai, with a drink in one hand, a whore on the other.
My experiences with the average Muslim have been good (two of my roommates in Houston were Muslim). And I had no problems with the third world laborers.
But all it takes is one nut. I was threatened twice, and soon after I left Schlumberger a suicide bomber hit the compound where I was based in Al Khobar.

not quite. Muslim is a term to anyone who surrenders to God, including the plants and animals. Innocent life includes any human being, as well as destroying animals and plants for the pure purpose of killing. During the Islamic empires, Muslims, Jews, and Christians lived together peacefully. I saw Christian neighborhoods and churches myself in Pakistan.
