  • wow i cant believe its that "cheap" for clomid... im on femara (in Canada however) and im looking at aprox 60$ for 5 pills, and the Provera is about $16.00

  • Well, I can tell you from experience the best drug is exercise it is def. healthier for your body I had lost enough weight and finally got pregnant naturally and I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 19 years old I am now 23 going on 24..... So don't give up on yourself join a gym take your daily vitamins and beat this for yourself!! Ladies believe me you were made for more and it is a journey with in yourself!! I am still a big girl but it happened for me! HAVE FAITH!

  • It actually doesn't seem that bad because you have insurance but WOW!! I live in Ontario, Canada and all the ultrasounds, consult, sperm test, and blood work is all covered. But stuff like medication you have to pay for but if you have a basic insurance plan through work or whatever most of that can be covered. :)

  • SORRY MY RE QUOED US 5,000 DOLLARS AND MY INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER INFERTILITY.. THEY DID COVER MY HSG, AND MRI..

  • When i saw my (RE) she got my HSG, MRI Covered, some OFFICE VISITS..

But my insurance quoted me 5,000 dollars for the IUI!! that was Each individual TRY!.

She told us it would take up to 3 trys. NO WAY ON EARth WERE WE GOING TO PAY THAT. BUT WHERE CAN YOU HAVE AN IUI DONE FOR UNDER THAT PRICE OBVIOUSLY YOUR'S WAS VERY UNEXPENSIVE.. PLEASE LET ME KNOW..

  • sounds like you have awesome insurance! my husband and I don't have insurance yet. What would you recommend? BTW congratulations on Hannah She is beautiful!

  • sympathy for you. meet infertile friends on InfertilePersonals

  • And now Miss Hannah will be here hopefully in the next few days. Yay Carla!

  • i am on ivf # 2 at boston ivf, the 1st one was 5,500 my co pay was 20.00 the 2nd was 8,300 had to do icsi my cost 20 fot ehat too

  • Gosh I know what you girls mean.. It is so expensive. I did one round of IUI that was over $1,000.00. So right now I 'm just useing the Blue Blue easy monitor.

  • I recently got aproval from my insurance but they only cover 50% of consultations and test

  • It's scary to add it all up isn't it.

To get our first daughter my husband had a Vasectomy Reversal (which was successful but due to antibodies gave us a very low less than 1% of natural conception) so we did 5 MIFT cycles, pregnant but miscarried on 4th conceived our daughter on 5th: Total out of pocket costs just over $24,000 (AU$)

Trying now for #2 - 10,007 eek and about to fork out $4,000ish tomorrow as I undo my next cycle.

    Expensive but so worth it!

  • Hopefully I don't "undo" my next cycle... hopefully I "undergo" it !!! and lots and lots more hope its successful!

  • That is great insurance. I have mine through United Healthcare and the paid for almost nothing! The initial diagnostic workups were covered with $30 copays. After that I remember Clomid being $75 and each midcycle ultrasound was $250-$350 each time. When we had to step it up a notch to injectibles, it was all out of pocket. Thank goodness our first injectibles/IUI cycle worked because the total cost was around $4000. So worth it, but I was sweating it just thinking about IVF.

  • My ins covers nothing!! So far for this yr we've paid - 3 cycles for clomid at $40 each cycle , Ovidrel $150 each cycle , 6 IUI 2 each cycle at $750 and a $15 co pay every visit exp for blood work about 20+ visits so far = $3120. I didn't know how to shop around and when u go to the RE and get ur protocol everything happens so quick when the process starts and all i can think about is I got to get my meds. I wish is lived by a walmart or target.. and sometimes I wish I lived in Canada

  • wow I just spent $80 on my 150 mg of clomid...hummm wonder why?

  • You have really good insurance. I have really bad insurance. It didnt even cover my emergeny D & C. But my prescriptions are $9 for clomid.

  • My insurance stopped covering Femara in August, at least without a breast cancer diagnosis. So far, that plus Ovidrel have been my biggest ticket items. My RE suggested genetic screenings for Cystic Fibrosis, which both my husband and I had, as it was covered. $100 per, instead of the $700 it would have been.

  • Clomid for me for 100mg's, is $67.00. But my work ins, pays half ;) My hubby's ins, covers 0 for infertility :(

  • Wow, I can't beleive that it is that much! Target clearly states the retail price and then MY price and the retail price wasn't more than $30.

Did you shop around to different pharmacies?

Are they giving me some back alley generic? :)

  • Its the Clomid, its the same price to the other place i got my pills before.Maybe they are different in Canada??????

  • wow! you have SWEET! insurance what do you have??? i have mine though my hubbys job (walmart)

    and i want yours lol!

  • We usually go through my husband's insurance - Regence/Regency (the new name for Blue Cross of California). His plan covers 6 Clomid cycles and 6 IUIs.

Looking at our TTC expences made me realize that we really hadn't spent that much for the first 10 cycles.
