Holy fuck... This is how you do it simply:

1) Open your LOD disk (in the dvd drive)

2) Copy the D2XVIDEO.MPQ and D2XMUSIC.MPQ files into the folder where you installed diablo 2

It should take about 20 seconds, I have no idea how this guy managed to try and explain it in 5 minutes (>^,^)>

Worked for me...only says at beginning can't run 2 cd's but it pops right into diablo lod then battle net fine. So it's a win-win for me...

ok just did it and it works. For all who said that it doesn't work , this is what u have to do...u have to full install diablo 2, not just for multiplayer which is 800M or something, u also need to install cinematicts(1,5GB)...also it is good when u upgrade your normal diablo 2 to diablo 2 lod that after instalation u may want to upgrade d2 lod. then connect to B-net to dl 1.13 patch and follow his steps. gr8 work man

Great information and I am glad that it was simple. I want to re-post what someone stated, that if it prompts you for a disc, just log into battle.net and patch the game, then it works great. For those of you that feel the need to bash people...it really says something about you and how you feel about yourself. This person spent the time an energy to help out, why the need to hate? It is much, much simpler these days. Just make sure you have a full installation of D2 and LoD then all you need to do is copy the D2xMusic.mpq from the disc drive into the D2 installation folder. BAM!Done.

Hey it's really working. Funny I upgrade installation to full installation from multiplayer just because somebody said to do that. But I remember using no cd cracks to not use cds before. maybe 1.13 changed it. =[ Anyways kind of funny that your pc takes few seconds to move files. lol not to be offensive but it was funny cause my pc can't play any latest 3D games in high quality mode but still it copied those files right away. maybe my pc is good it's just the graphics card that sucks.. =]

Works but too many steps. All you have to do is open both folder where game is installed and the cdrom in separate explorer windows then hold down ctrl and click both files and drag them to game folder. If haven't installed game yet and you don't have discs you can just download off battle.net if you have cd keys and will play without the cd's. You just need to have battle.net account and add game

It worked on my version of diablo II LoD, I bought the battle chest in store. My brother also bought the battle chest but online from ebay. We both have vista but his problem is when you right-click Diablo LoD in the my computer section and select open it brings up another window with just the one file that says installer but thats it and im not sure why it does that on his.

there's a few ways. i only remember the easy way. the easy way to do it is play the game in window mode. to do that, you right click the game, go to properties, and in the Target: area(wherever it was put) and add a space, then put -w (ex: "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w)

if that doesn't work, it's a frustrating process to get it to work. if i could remember the other way, i would tell you, but i forget how since it's been so long =/

I think the main use for not having to use the disc is because WE DONT HAVE THE FUCKING DISC.. seriously, its getting frustrating seeing all the damn videos on youtube saying "Without the disc" and their first step is "Put the disc in." On top of that, why ARE there so many damn videos on that? There's seriously dozens of videos showing the exact same shit. The only reason i keep looking at them all is because im hoping one of them actually wont NEED the fucking disc like their title preaches.
