This way would work if you already jailbreak your phone, but if you are not jailbreak right now you have to use Pawnagetool on MAC or Blackra1n.

ive updated and restored to 3.1.2 using itunes this is literally the 53rd video ive watched and this ones the only one without sucky blackra1n. ive gotten the closest to jailbreaking with your videos but it still won't work. It would be cool if you could find a way or make another video for me. Your're my favorite so far. I have windows vista. try making a video of you doing it on the pc. Thanks

I am happy to see you come pretty close to jailbreaking using my video, But if your phone is not Jailbreak right now, Using a PC won't be possible without and I some what hate to say it (Blackra1n) - Eventhough I got to say it actually do work. YOu will need a MAC to jailbreak your device running the new 3.1.2 firmware, but I say do this - Use blackra1n and then use the custom firmware jus like I did in this video lol. I have a friend who did that....

i'm stuck on 3.1.2 and cant jailbreak (blackra1n), i have a legit at&t sim so unlock doesnt matter to me but I really just want to get back onto 3.0 firmware and then jailbreak 3.0. can you tell me how to do this????

You can Jailbreak using either mac with the Pawnagetool from the dev team and if you don't care about unlock, you can use Blackra1n (still not a big fan of blackra1n lol)

On 3.1.2 you will need to have your iPod Touch already jailbroken, if it's not jailbreak already like yours, I say use blackra1n even though i'm not a big fan. You don't have to worry about unlock so it will work fine for you, then you can use custom firmware after that.

Because you got the wrong firmware.

Ex. for iPhone 3G you must use iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Custom_Re­store.ipsw

It's a jailbreak and it will be able to unlock if you didn't do the Itunes 3.1.2 update. If you update from 3.0 or 3.0.1 with custom firmwares you baseband stay the same so you will be able to unlock.

I got 2.2.1 Firmware right, And I been jailbroken for a while. I want 3.1.2, so do if I follow ur steps, i'll be able to have 3.1.2 AND continue to be jailbroken or what? this vid is just unclear on that part to me thats all, cuz my phone works and everything, I just dont know what the best way to go is.

Yea it unlocks, But you have to follow the Unlock steps - If you update your phone via iTunes to 3.1 or 3.1.2 you won't be able to jailbreak unless the Dev team create a tool to downgrade your baseband.
