  • Why are so many people saying "i grec" doesn't mean anything? It does...

    Y was used only in words from Greek origines, at a certain time, since it was not a latin letter.

    Indeed in Greek Y is called "upsilon", it became V in Latin, so it was taken as Y again to transcribe foreign words.

    Same thing for Z which became G then Z was reintroduce etc.

    I found a Wikipedia page about Phoenician alphabet...at the roots.

    So please "i grec" has the write to be called so, lol!

    Hope no one is angry at me!

  • @DantaKryst in spanish its call i griega. Which means greek "i" same thing in french but in spanish its use more often than most other romance language and it used for native spanish words as a"j" sound.

  • @DantaKryst Ohhhh..." i grec" means greek Y..wow,AWESOME!...LOVE THIS VIDEO.Yes,is Greek Y.

  • @alttab7890 "i grec" = "greek i" not "greek y"

  • what is w and y?

  • w= "double v" (like "vé")

    y= "y grec"

  • it's not "y grec" but "i grec" (greek i)

  • what's "(greek i)" supposed to mean?

    . . . wouldn't that be saying "y" backwords?

  • it doesn't mean anything

    You can't say 3=3+4 ...... y = y grec doesn't mean anything or : i grec = i grec grec

    You don't say w = double w it's the same here

    Hope you get it!

    y = i grec
