stainless will show up on an xray if the dog is lost or if there was questions in the future if it was sterilized. that way it wouldnt need to be opened up again. sometimes the incision is hard to see.... some vets also tattoo the incision so one knows the animal is sterilized.

i have never heard of stainless steel suture, much less using it internally! Why are you using non-absorbable suture for spays and neuters?
