I used to do this with a old river rat, growing up in Iowa. we would catch buckets of blue-gill's for bait. hook them thru the back or tail, let them down just afew inches under water, and they would splashy-splash all night, we slaaaaaayed the big cats doing that. & afew huge walleye / pike too. always used a nice green limb.

@mrsmelzbad where at in Iowa? I did it afew times with my uncle in some back water off of the Des Moines River about 30 miles from Des Moines.

i hvae caught fish well over 20 lbs and some up to 42 lbs. but limblinig is soo much fun

Guys Im Loving it.Rised in Harln Co Ky myself.Fished the old lake and Martins Fork many times.Jug and Line fishing is one of my very favorites for them great tasteing cats.

Haven't done this is ages. Use to limb line and jug fish is Dale Hollow as well as trot lines. I've caught so great cats this way. Best chase I ever had was a big soft shell turtle on a jug. Took an hours it seemed.
