A special education teacher at my school has an 8 yr old son whose performed with the Toronto Philharmonic for violin. They are an average family of average intelligence. Just goes to show IQ is not always genetic.

Very talented young lad! But what's really cool is how grounded his parents are about all this, like his Dad said "next year if he wants to be a fireman, then he can be a fireman". Too many parents of talented kids just push too hard and deny their child of a chance at being a kid, it seems Ethans' parents are just willing to let Ethan decide what he's gonna do in life, except for his education of course. Way to go Mom & Dad! Be what you want to be Ethan!

He is using some brain cells the majority of our population doesn't know how to use. Learning from hearing is a learning style many kids use. I am amazed by his accomplishments. Those CDs do actually help children have exposure to music and language that can aid in developmental growth. In his case he just learned in a different way and faster than you probably.
