  • I studied Art and I don't think I can even finish one of these painting in a life time. Alma Tadema is a genius!

  • Yes I think so too. Its the use of light on the marble and the clothes that is so perfect I think :)

  • I would steal to own of these paintings! I know a family who is so lucky to.

I remember the exhibition dedicated to AT in Amsterdam years ago as one of the greatest emotions in my artistic life!

  • Absolutely yes. Maybe i am far beyond insolent for thinking i can even interpret an atom of his genious, but i don`t care, he would have chosen this music, i am sure of that. The notes goes along with light just in the way the roses of the heliogabalus flows in the wind.

  • Thank you. I thought the music went well, although it was from a different period.

  • Yes it was a different period but I love to listen to Chopin when I am looking at Monet and Chopin died in 1849 and Monet became famous like in the 1870's. It is just nice to listen to the music and art that matches together.

  • yes I agree, best to just put our own favourites together. My other video is my own two personal favourites, Rembrandt and Handel's largo.

  • Wheresthesea, since we have in commmon about art I just posted my first video of two artist named Francois Boucher & Jean-Honore Fragonard. They were painters from the 18th century. It may not be really too good because a lot of the paintings are repeated over again because I don't know how to cut most of the music off. Anyway you can go to my profile and see it. I hope you enjoy it!!!!

  • My Favorite artist. Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema. There are good websites about him. Some of his originals are at the Getty Museum in LA. And in Hamburg, Germany. I was lucky to see them in person.

  • Thanks for saying where some of the original are, that's interesting :)

  • Muy bello!

  • Thank you. I prefer yours, you have more pictures and beautiful singing!

  • What a master of figure and light. I'm ashamed to admit that I've never heard of him so thanks for educating me. I'm off to look him up and see if he's post pre-raphaelite.

  • Yes I hadn't heard of him either until I found a book of his art in a shop. He was Dutch 1839-1912. I like his use of light, with the marble and the material of the clothes.
