It's really quite sweet the way they fall in love in this movie, rediscovering the terms "beloved husband" and "beloved wife". Discovering the way men and women were meant to live their lives together for life.
Kind of like Adam&Eve in the garden.
Lots of biblical overtones in this movie. I wonder if it was deliberate or accidental?
This scene has of the most emotional moments of Goldsmith's score, along with the later love theme in the swimming scene. When the characters are inside the city, the score is cold and electronic. It is only when they discover the outside world that the full orchestral music begins.
Yes, very uplifting, the moment of "victory" over the forces that have kept them contained inside the city. I feel the same way every time I leave the office where I work. :)
Didnt he also write the score for Star Trek#1 and Patton?
