Whether or not Jesus existed in form matters little because many people have created his existence in their lives and throughout many cultures around the world. Our truth is in their words and that is why so many people have followed the words of these great spiritual teachers. Unfortunately we also threw in the rest of our baggage.

@brutus301 what you're describing is organized religion vs spirituality. there are many religious people alive today who do very well following a set of laws and edicts written by man, but those who are spiritual and strive to not just follow the laws but see beyond them, to seek their purpose, to see the world from a perspective other than their own are few and far between.

I can't become God even if I wanted to. I am one with him already. As everything is God's energy materializing in different places, is every consciousness one with God's consciousness.

Why would Satan want to lead us along this path? Precisely because she is mocking God, and the fact that God can not change the will of others once it has been given. Thus Satan will try to destroy you, wipe your memories clean, and brainwash you, so that like God, Satan can give you purpose and intention. Satan can then create the illusion of giving you a new will (that which God realizes impossible). Satan will turn you into an abomination, as it is her deepest desire to mock you and God.
God is life/spirit/animation/purpose/ intention. Since God is omnipresent life, we can never return to that state of simply existing as wasted potential in death. Christians want to worship God as a King, but we are to love God as a Mother. Please thank God for this blessing.

To the point At the deepest level (I call it the consciousness), there is no space or time, there is only the oneness of all. Everything is this one dot, the unity of being. It is a background and base for everything concentrated on a single spot, that is all in itself.
I actually view things in the opposite direction. I start from the Top and work my way up. The Infinite One is without beginning or end, completely boundless. From this state is where varying shades of finiteness is born. If you throw 50 toys in a box, it doesn't become 51 toys or infinity. So an infinite number of us finite beings put into a box is just that--an infinite number of finite beings. We haven't become boundless in some way.
If you could poke this spot, you would poke the entire universe in all its timeline in one single touch. This is the God in my view, the unity of all. But I do think there is a force of God that is in autopilot-mode.

You cant say that one is or is not God for we are all the same beingness. One can act in unison with God, or distract him/herself from it.
God is omnipresent, but God also has an Ego/Will/Body, but it is so grand and without boundary that we can not see or hear or smell it, God can only be felt.
The ego is something that blocks the will of your own and extracts you from the unity with God. If you are controlled by your ego, the conditioning, you cannot be a co-creator in the universe, you only react. You dont have free will.
The ego is destroyed not by suicide, but through letting go of these conditionings. One could say that you are reborn in this process, creating a new life for you rather than killing it.
From my perspective, we only loose freewill when we are around people with conflicting desires (which is why I think the government created so many religions/spiritual nonsense).
Say I want a car, and I make one, but everyone else hates the car and then destroys it--my freewill has been over-ruled by many. But, if I wanted a car, and everyone liked it and asked me how to make a car, then we have unity. This is not "oneness" we haven't fused into one omega identity, this is co-operation.
I would say that the ego-cleansing process is not about killing the ego, it is about expanding it. You let go of the unnecessary stuff, thus becoming more other-centered. So its less about killing anything, more about cleansing and expanding.

When your brain works in harmony, there is no left brain right brain stuff, it is a union. You do know they are connected and they work together. It is just that some areas might be dominant.

Reasoning goes both ways. If one is to attain great understanding you have to be able to think both ways and see the big picture.
The difference of analogical or deductive reasoning (dont know if these are the right terms, I mean going from the particularities to generalities and vice versa) is relevant when explaining things to someone or when you can use it for your advantage. When you know how someone (or yourself) thinks (if a certain style is dominant) you can adapt your explaining to it.
Well, I would say that deductive (as opposed to holistic) reasoning really doesn't get you much. If I'm trying to figure out how to start a car by analyzing every little piece, I won't be very successful. Conversely, if the idea of using a key just popped into my mind (as is the case with right-brain thinkers), then you communicate this to your left brain which will figure out how to manipulate the key. People in this world tend to think backwards (or in alignment with the world instead God).
Okay. What comes from analysis and deduction, is the understanding. If something goes wrong, you are more able to fix it. Deductive reasoning is the more civilized one, so to speak, and not all are capable of it.
Why so many think like this is the cause and effect theory. For example if a window is broken by a rock, it is natural (to most people) to think that it was the cause of the rock and someone throwing it. But what if you think that the window was the reason for the rock to hit it?
When I explain how the world is constructed in my view, I see it only natural to explain it from the level which we experience through our senses for that is the level we have the most knowledge from. Best would be to first explain it like I did and then the other way around.
If I would now explain it to you, knowing how you think and after explaining it the other way, I would begin from the one existence, Consciousness, which then comes down to the material level.
The Infinite One is definitely boundless for it has no shape or form or time of any kind. And this Consciousness spurs everything that is. This everything (energy and what else) is inside of it, yet constructed on top of it. The hardest part is having to understand it both ways.
Though we seem separate as we are in this material world, we are all one in the Consciousness. As material is separate at this level, so are our minds. But our thoughts submit to the whole universe.
How do you define "consciousness"? If it is the characteristic of existing, then all in creation surely has that. As far as thoughts are concerned, it is possible to shield them from others who may be telepathic. To me, I would like to say that it is God who connects us all together, but I do not identify as being God in the same way that I do not identify with a string tied around my wrist.
Defining Consciousness is not an easy task. It is not the characteristics of existing, because everything has that as you said. It is the source of being. It is the base of being into which thoughts, as energy, are born. When you think a thought, you have manipulated or created energy. So, the Consciousness would be something from which everything emanates from, the base for the field of pure potentiality.
Consciousness has no shape or form, but the information of thought has, as energy.
I feel the world is promoting opposites to keep us dis-empowered. The more off-balanced we become, the more we distance ourself from God, as God is perfectly balanced. This then limits our power, creativity, ability to think independently, and our health. On another note, despite what the Bible claims, I don't think God created male and female since God has undivided power (and therefore wouldn't divide power between two sexes). I think a race of fallen hermaphrodites created us as slaves.

I agree, there is only God and then the absence of God (God is an omnipresent continuum so there is no true absence of anything). We however, are inside this continuum, and being finite spirits there will always be a limit to how much we can see, hence the dualities. However, like God, we can instead view the world in a gray-scale gradient. Rather than seeing opposites, we can view the world in terms of differences and similarities.
Yes, the opposites. You could say that life is constant balancing between these opposites and if youre close enough to the other end, you have a disease, like a mental disorder. This is the way we have been taught to think, it is not a given. It is to make an interval of what can be. People usually identify themselves closer to other end. It would be good to smoothen things up and strive to see things as you said.

I was once a Christian, a Buddhist, a Hindi, a Muslim, and a New Ager. I found gaps in all the trains of thought, but I also found some truth in all of them. I've essentially had to merge them all together to find a truth I can resonate with.

Gods presence can be felt everywhere if you see it. Natures flow in itself is Gods will and work. I believe that if this will is let free, there will be a paradise on earth. You may think that keeping things organized and in control takes more energy than when you dont do it. There is a limitless force of God that will keep everything flowing in perfect harmony if you let it happen. Energy is consumed when you fight against this force and it can be blocked.
I don't see we lose freewill around people with different views. (I agree on your hypothesis about the government) It is your freewill to build the car and you did. What happens after is not the negation of your freewill. The conflict is, again, result of the egos doings. The fear and ego and their results, prejudice and jealousy are what makes people do stuff like that. The lack of co-operation is the result of the egos clashing against each other.
Because of the "ego" we can communicate our lack of appreciation for another's doing. Think about math:
Positive x Positive = Positive
Positive x Negative = Negative
Negative x Negative = Positive
See what happens when we are nice to evil doers? They end up winning and taking advantage of our kindness. We have to show them just as much negativity until they finally step-down and find some other planet to conquer.
But the world doesnt work like that. When you resist something you dont want, it is an act of war. If you think negative, you are creating negative. If you are acting negative against negative, more negative will come. Rather than multiplying, it is about adding up.
You are somewhat right in there. But there is a balance between being too kind and too stubborn. You don't need to be too kind to evil doers. Evil doers have lost their way and you could guide them in the right direction rather than showing them more of the same and losing your own way in the process. These dualities are what rip the world apart.
If we were all "One" then why are people naturally aversive to stereotypes? Precisely because the individual is being ignored. We are not all One, but we are interconnected. If we were all "One," then women with hairy armpits could not co-exist with women with shaved armpits. We would all be clones of each other, which is inefficient, and the Cosmos is efficient by default. Hence, why we are all interconnected individuals--the true definition of being "One."
No, you need to re-activate your Left Brain. This advaita thinking is utterly untrue. Most who completely shut down their Left Brain to achieve "nirvana" need to have other people take care of their daily needs since they have regressed back into children. Look it up on-line.

Advaita is basically the lack of dualism (non-dualism, or "oneness"). People who approach life from this perspective find ordinary tasks like washing our teeth, brushing our hair, communication, etc....to be impossible, and so they need others to take care of themselves, much like an infant. This happens when the Left Brain was atrophied and shut-down, and could even lead to death if the organs can not sustain themselves. The Source is supposed to flow through you, not destroy you.
Now, I'm not trying to be rude, you seem like a nice guy/girl. But, even the phrase "ALL is ONE" implies a sense of dualism. How can there be an "all" and a "one" at the same time? For the simple reason that dualism simply is.
God in His/Her/It's boundless potential realized that in a state of perfect oneness He wasn't making Himself useful; simply wasted potential. And so, through the creation of finite beings such as ourselves, He could finally be given purpose. When I was younger, I too used to believe "we are all one" until I analyzed my surroundings and realized it was untrue. "Oneness" itself is a right-brain illusion. We are not becoming "one" you are simply observing all the ways we are vastly interconnected.
That's why you didn't get it. You believed we are all one, yet you could not _understand_ it.
I would like to read somewhere a little about what you are talking about as it does not make sense to me. To my knowledge, there is no such thing that a human could do that would make him an imbecile. As in not working correctly.
I understand you are not me and I'm not you in the way we perceive it. We are not becoming one, we IS, right here, right now. In time you will understand if you seek it.
Yes, I *do* understand this concept of supposed "oneness" very well, which is why I don't believe in it anymore. lol It's that simple. I also used to be a Christian, until I too realized the Bible is full of half-truths. Every religion on this planet, every so-called spiritual refuge is but a series of half-truths. The concept of "oneness" is only half the picture, there are a few pieces missing to the puzzle...
What is missing? We are all connected from the deeper levels of being and there is a common consciousness, in short. That explains everything in the world.
Correction; the concept of spiritual oneness was devised to force you to surrender your own Ego to outside forces who wish to control you. It is only through the Ego that freewill can be expressed, you see. You are a part of the One, but you are not the One. All our Souls live with the body of the God Soul.
If you keep repeating that oneness is a right-brain illusion, then that will be it for you. If you let go of your present beliefs, you will find wisdom.
Spirituality is much like taking drugs--rather than helping you to achieve your life goals, it simply helps you to *escape* from them. Notice, it is mostly those who've had a rough life who pursue spirituality; they don't have the nice house, or the great family, or great friends, or the great job, or the large bank account. Happy people couldn't give a damn about spirituality. Most priests/gurus themselves are scam artists who love to pray on folks like you. I do believe in afterlife, however.
To me spirituality is just the opposite. You have come to the wrong conclusions my friend (from my perspective). I'm not trying to be rude here, but think about it. The ones who have rough backgrounds, have found maybe spirituality and made their lives flourish.
It is not about escaping your goals, it is finding your *true goals*. Not the ones fed to you, to your ego.
There are so called happy people, but I think true happiness can't be achieved or found without finding your spirituality.
Spirituality is about realising that there are no problems that man has not made for himself. If you are not happy, there is something blocking it.
It's about finding the true nature of yourself and your true potential.
During that process you will find happiness in the present and eventually your true purpose. During the process, however, you are going towards that purpose with all your might and potential that has awakened.
Come to think about it, that does not include much of the spiritual factor. Everything is connected, eventually one. Everything that is happening is our creations coming to being. This is our synchronized destiny which we, ourselves, make. Then there is the fact that everything is energy and consciousness has the ability to manipulate it. Therefore, everything is possible.
Spirituality is actualizing the spirit within the physical body, and thus the two worlds can work in harmony. In order to do so, you must first accept that you are a finite being on an ever-growing journey to become infinite. You must also accept that God is the only infinite entity in existence, and through It you can expand forever. You did not create the heavens and the Earth, but you can enjoy God's creation.
I've recently come to think about drugs and spirituality. I would think that, for example, pot would help one in their spiritual journey. I still don't recommend it, as it has many effects.
With lsd and MMs it's the same apparently, or not. They have other effects too so I really don't know what to say about it.
All in all, it sounds too artificial and fake to experience something as natural as spirituality through drugs.

The spirit can not manifest. Any attempts to manifest the spirit into the physical form will lead to abominations (discordance with God). The spiritual and physical are interconnected, but they do retain their integrity.
I see that the Spirit (God) is the base, the consciousness, from which everything emanates from. Also, the spirit is in everything and everything (energy) is spirit. One can not exist without the other.

Do you identify as the room you sit within? In reality, you are a PART of the room, but not the room itself. Your liver cells are a PART of your body, but not the body itself. If there were something "wrong" with incarnation, this world, or physical things, God wouldn't be involved. If God isn't involved, it doesn't exist. Simple enough? There is no escape of dualism by seeking non-dualism. This was known for a very long time, why does everyone get caught up in anti-dualisms? Oh well. ANTI-Dualism vs. Dualism = Dualism. I can't become God even if I wanted to. I am one with him already. As everything is God's energy materializing in different places, is every consciousness one with God's consciousness.

Firstly; we are not to run towards God and Spirit, for it is omnipresent. One who feels God is to be pursued is out of alignment with God.
Second; the New Age concept of "oneness" is an attempt to become God, any who walk this path are simply leading themselves into Satan's trap.
Your Ego/Human self is not an "illusion"--it is who God intended you to be. However, humans today are a distorted fragment of our original glory, and God will heal us in due time. Be patient.

I do believe that it will be us who will bring about change since God is perfectly loving and can not bring about punishment. We have to punish the wicked. However, this power can only be granted when you accept that you are who you are, and will never become God. Asking to become God is a wish that can never be granted, and you will never get anywhere in life if you do. However, if we realize we are imperfect beings who need the Infinite One, then we will be given all the power we need.

This happens through creation. Nobody is to punish anyone, they will have as they deserve. There is no-one who can say they have the right to judge others.

I think we have about the same basics covered, though our what is my relationship to the divine differs, not much actually.
The oneness: All of life is energy. When you go deeper in the levels of being, you find that all is energy in different forms.

Maybe there is more to the energy and energy is something. I think it at least contains information. I actually view things in the opposite direction. I start from the Top and work my way up. The Infinite One is without beginning or end, completely boundless. From this state is where varying shades of finiteness is born. If you throw 50 toys in a box, it doesn't become 51 toys or infinity. So an infinite number of us finite beings put into a box is just that--an infinite number of finite beings. We haven't become boundless in some way.

The ego is something that blocks the will of your own and extracts you from the unity with God. If you are controlled by your ego, the conditioning, you cannot be a co-creator in the universe, you only react. You dont have free will.
The ego is destroyed not by suicide, but through letting go of these conditionings. One could say that you are reborn in this process, creating a new life for you rather than killing it.

From my perspective, we only loose freewill when we are around people with conflicting desires (which is why I think the government created so many religions/spiritual nonsense).
Say I want a car, and I make one, but everyone else hates the car and then destroys it--my freewill has been over-ruled by many. But, if I wanted a car, and everyone liked it and asked me how to make a car, then we have unity. This is not "oneness" we haven't fused into one omega identity, this is co-operation.

I would say that the ego-cleansing process is not about killing the ego, it is about expanding it. You let go of the unnecessary stuff, thus becoming more other-centered. So its less about killing anything, more about cleansing and expanding.

It doesnt matter which direction you view things from. The true skill is having it both ways. The dancer is spinning both clockwise and anticlockwise depending on how I view it. When your brain works in harmony, there is no left brain right brain stuff, it is a union. You do know they are connected and they work together. It is just that some areas might be dominant.
The ego-cleansing process amplifies this union - by harmonizing your brain and emotional self.

Reasoning goes both ways. If one is to attain great understanding you have to be able to think both ways and see the big picture.
The difference of analogical or deductive reasoning (dont know if these are the right terms, I mean going from the particularities to generalities and vice versa) is relevant when explaining things to someone or when you can use it for your advantage. When you know how someone (or yourself) thinks (if a certain style is dominant) you can adapt your explaining to it.

Well, I would say that deductive (as opposed to holistic) reasoning really doesn't get you much. If I'm trying to figure out how to start a car by analyzing every little piece, I won't be very successful. Conversely, if the idea of using a key just popped into my mind (as is the case with right-brain thinkers), then you communicate this to your left brain which will figure out how to manipulate the key. People in this world tend to think backwards (or in alignment with the world instead God).

Okay. What comes from analysis and deduction, is the understanding. If something goes wrong, you are more able to fix it. Deductive reasoning is the more civilized one, so to speak, and not all are capable of it.
Why so many think like this is the cause and effect theory. For example if a window is broken by a rock, it is natural (to most people) to think that it was the cause of the rock and someone throwing it. But what if you think that the window was the reason for the rock to hit it?

When I explain how the world is constructed in my view, I see it only natural to explain it from the level which we experience through our senses for that is the level we have the most knowledge from. Best would be to first explain it like I did and then the other way around.
If I would now explain it to you, knowing how you think and after explaining it the other way, I would begin from the one existence, Consciousness, which then comes down to the material level.

The Infinite One is definitely boundless for it has no shape or form or time of any kind. And this Consciousness spurs everything that is. This everything (energy and what else) is inside of it, yet constructed on top of it. The hardest part is having to understand it both ways.
Though we seem separate as we are in this material world, we are all one in the Consciousness. As material is separate at this level, so are our minds. But our thoughts submit to the whole universe.

As far as thoughts are concerned, it is possible to shield them from others who may be telepathic. Defining Consciousness is not an easy task. It is not the characteristics of existing, because everything has that as you said. It is the source of being. It is the base of being into which thoughts, as energy, are born. When you think a thought, you have manipulated or created energy. So, the Consciousness would be something from which everything emanates from, the base for the field of pure potentiality.
Consciousness has no shape or form, but the information of thought has, as energy.

I feel the world is promoting opposites to keep us dis-empowered. The more off-balanced we become, the more we distance ourself from God, as God is perfectly balanced. This then limits our power, creativity, ability to think independently, and our health. On another note, despite what the Bible claims, I don't think God created male and female since God has undivided power (and therefore wouldn't divide power between two sexes). I think a race of fallen hermaphrodites created us as slaves.

Actually, in some American aboriginal cultures, the women are leaders as with elephants. Men and women are not so different. At birth our brains are alike. I agree, there is only God and then the absence of God (God is an omnipresent continuum so there is no true absence of anything). We however, are inside this continuum, and being finite spirits there will always be a limit to how much we can see, hence the dualities. However, like God, we can instead view the world in a gray-scale gradient. Rather than seeing opposites, we can view the world in terms of differences and similarities.

What happens after is not the negation of your freewill. The conflict is, again, result of the egos doings. If we were all "One," then women with hairy armpits could not co-exist with women with shaved armpits. We would all be clones of each other, which is inefficient, and the Cosmos is efficient by default. Hence, why we are all interconnected individuals--the true definition of being "One."

Advaita is basically the lack of dualism (non-dualism, or "oneness"). People who approach life from this perspective find ordinary tasks like washing our teeth, brushing our hair, communication, etc....to be impossible, and so they need others to take care of themselves, much like an infant. This happens when the Left Brain was atrophied and shut-down, and could even lead to death if the organs can not sustain themselves. The Source is supposed to flow through you, not destroy you.

God in His/Her/It's boundless potential realized that in a state of perfect oneness He wasn't making Himself useful; simply wasted potential. And so, through the creation of finite beings such as ourselves, He could finally be given purpose. When I was younger, I too used to believe "we are all one" until I analyzed my surroundings and realized it was untrue. "Oneness" itself is a right-brain illusion. We are not becoming "one" you are simply observing all the ways we are vastly interconnected.

I've recently come to think about drugs and spirituality. I would think that, for example, pot would help one in their spiritual journey. I still don't recommend it, as it has many effects.
With lsd and MMs it's the same apparently, or not. They have other effects too so I really don't know what to say about it.
All in all, it sounds too artificial and fake to experience something as natural as spirituality through drugs.

The material is the surface level, so to speak. Then there are levels between this and the spirit.
The consciousness (God, spirit, higher self, higher intelligence) is the background for everything concentrated on one spot. It is also the background for our consciousnesses.
