no it's nothing like that. the tradition is that when a girl turns fifteen, she has what is called a quinceanera to celebrate the shift from childhood to womanhood. The celebration includes a mass (or whatever kind of church service depending on religion), a waltz, a surprise dance, and then a party (among other traditional things)!
