Start from the top right of town. Once you read the river on the right side, start from the top left this way you can combine the patterns. The rivers do count for the acres.

wait thats confusing so my questin is, i start from the top left i put down 4 spaces to the rig and i reach a river do i just ignore the river and on the other side start at five or no? because if i don't count it when im go to the left i always have to many spaces left! ai confusing...

You have to count the river. Just do exactly what I said. Repeat the 16x16 patterns from the right to the left until you reach the river. Once you reach the river, start from the left and work to the right. This way you can combine the middle pattern when they meet at the river and it will be exact.

well you need to have a passing grade town for 15 days straight. to get a better town, like when the duck says, "need more green in this area" it means to plant more flowers. Plant as much as flowers as you can and you will have a perfect town, and make sure to dig fossils and mataloids everyday, and pick weeds, and thats pretty much it to get a perfect town

i maintained a perfect rating for 17 days and i still didn't get it!!! what am i doing wrong? (i talk to pelly to check the town rating, then save it, then go to the wii settings and change the date to the next day. then i repeat.) is this not allowed, or do i have to allow 15 days to pass 'legitimately' to get the golden watering can? thanks.

You don't have to do it legitimately, though it's a lot easier to screw up less when you don't time travel. Also I don't think you should be in a rush to get the golden watering can unless you have black roses you absolutely need to be gold very soon. If you miss picking the weeds that come up one day, or leave something on the ground your town won't be perfect. Also you only need to keep it perfect for 15 days, not 17.

Silver: Revives wilted flowers and wilted red turnips.

Gold: Turns wilted black roses into gold.

Actually, Sometimes, there is a easy way to get a good enviroment grade, :/ you get someone from another town to plant trees and or flower seeds.

Yeah, that's the only way. Unless you go online and persuade someone to sell theirs. It costs 500,000 bells for the fountain, so it might be cheaper (and more fun) to just do it yourself.
